Roman's POV:
I run over to him without thinking, grab his face, and kiss him on the lips. But then he pushes me away and now stares at me in fear. "Who- who are you? Who am I? Where am I?"
"What's going on?!" Patton bursts in but then freezes when he sees Virgil. "Virgil? Virgil?!" He runs over to him and hugs him, but Virgil pushes him off.
"Who are you?" he asks. "Who am I? Where am I?"
Tears come to Patton's eyes. "You...what's the last thing you remember?"
"I- I know stuff about me- what I like and stuff- but that's it. I don't know anything or anyone else." He looks over at me and asks, "Why did you kiss me?"
I start to cry, being overcomes by emotions. "We were dating...until you died..."
He walks towards me and takes my hands in his. "What's your name?"
"Roman."
"Roman...Roman...that sounds vaguely familiar...Are you obsessed with Disney? Princey? Creativity? Right?"
I nod, clutching onto his hands like my life depended on it.
"Okay, Roman. Okay." He lets go of my hands and walks over to Patton. "What's your name?"
Patton smiles and says, "Patton."
"Patton...Patton...The dad of the group. The ones who loves puppies and kittens. Thomas' morality."
Patton nods. "Yes, yes. That's all true."
Logan walks in and asks, "What's going o-" He looks at Virgil in shock. "Virgil? Is that you?"
Virgil says, "I don't know. Is it?"
"He has no memories of us," Patton says.
"I have memories of you guys," Virgil states. "Just not with me in them."
"So you remember us from before you came?" Logan asks.
Virgil nods. "Yes. Now, tell me, what's your name?"
"My name is Logan."
"Logan. The logical one of us. The nerd. The geek. The genius. You love to read books and love mathematical equations and science. You despise Disney and anything illogical. Right?"
Logan nods. "Yes, that is correct."
Virgil walks over to me. "I feel a special connection with you. My anxiety is less when I am near you. Could I...could I...stay with you?"
I nod. "Yeah, of course."
"So you remember us, but not anything about you?" Logan asks.
Virgil turns to him and nods. "Yes."
"You still like My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, and Marilyn Manson?"
He turns to me and says, "No. I love them."
I chuckle. "At least you still have your sense of humor."
"We should be leaving now," Logan says.
"Yeah. Let's go. Nice to have you back, Virgil!" Patton says. Then him and Logan leave.
"Roman..."
"Yes bab-" I can't call him babe. He doesn't remember our relationship.
"I remember everything."
I give him a confused look. "What do you mean you remember everything?"
"I made up not remembering anything. I still have my memories."
I walk up to him and say, "Why did you lie?"
"I want to start over. Want to have a chance to have better relationships with Patton and Logan. Though I don't want to lose it with you."
I run my fingers through his hair. "Okay. I'll go along with it, baby." I kiss his forehead.
He wraps his arms around my shoulders and his legs around my hips. He gives me a smirk that makes me concerned. "You wanna know what we haven't done for a long time?"
"Stuff?"
"What Jesus and Mary Magdalene would do."
"Christians would deny that."
"But we all know it's true."
"Yes, yes we do."
Then he kisses me passionately on the lips.
He's acting weird, being super confident.
Maybe it's an effect from being dead.
But something's still off about him...
If this was my Virgil, he would've been panicking.
He would've been stuttering a lot more.
Not being able to lie so easily...
And that's when I throw him off of me and grab my sword.
"What have you done with Virgil, Deceit?"
