Pearl : White Diamond's

four.

That mysterious pearl was all that occupied my mind whenever I wasn't attending to my diamond. When I retired to my room, I would stay up all night wondering where he was, how he was going to get to Earth and...if I could come too...

After Pink's disappearing act, White became more irritable each day. She didn't show it to the others but we can just tell. The subjects couldn't tell though. The obeyed the diamonds and smiled with no doubts in their minds. If they knew what was really going on, who knows what would happen.

The story that everyone knows and pass on about Pink Diamond is that she was shattered during the Great Gem War. Everyone thinks she was shattered by Rose Quartz. Even until this days, it's has been so many years now, they still want Rose Quartz to return to Home World for a live execution. The subjects had spoken and they want to see the death of the one who took away one of their diamonds.

It's quite savage of our world but sometimes I don't blame them. But, I do not wish death upon Rose Quartz. Wherever she is, I'm sure she is suffering quite enough. Pearl decided to take part in the war. I remember one of the last nights I saw her, she spoke of wanting a new life away from here and the diamonds.

"Haven't you ever wondered what it could be like!?" I remembered Pearl asking.

"What?" I asked.

"Our liiiives! Away from here and living somewhere else!"

"Like where?..."

"...like Earth?"

I snapped out of my thoughts as I was called by White Diamond. She was retired for the day but she needed some errands to be completed and she did not wish to do them herself so she passed the responsibility over to me.

"Yes, my Diamond," I said curtsying to her and I hurried out the palace in my bubble. I landed at the first place on her list. It was at one of the abandoned kindergartens. It felt very eerie. I could not help but feel confused as I wandered around the kindergarten. I looked down on the list and it just said, "make sure still abandoned."

So I did so. I did my best to be as thorough as possible. I went up some of the tallest mountains and underground to make sure no one was around. I made my way to the very end of the kindergarten and that was when I saw the mysterious pearl again. I gasped as I saw him. He heard me and quickly turned around. What was he doing here?

"Pearl...what are you doing here?" I quickly asked.

"Pearl...I thought I wouldn't see you again."

"You haven't answered my question."

"Oh yes. Silly me. I am from the kindergarten that is still running that isn't far from here. I thought I could hide out here until I gathered my barrings."

"Do you still plan to make your way to Earth?"

"I do."

"I may...want to accompany you."

"Because you want to get away from your abuser?"

"Because I want to reunite with my friend."

"You know we can't go to Earth, Pearl."

"And whyyy nooot?! I keep hearing all these wonderful stories about it. Plus!..don't tell anyone but I've been there. With Pink Diamond!" She was so full of glee.

I was shocked and appalled.

"When did Pink Diamond go to Earth? How did she without anyone noticing her?"

"She has some tricks up her sleeve. I cannot state that information but know that I saw Earth and it is beautiful! You have to come with me."

"I cannot, Pearl. My place is here, with White Diamond..."

"Pearl. You're miserable with her..please..come with me to Earth..."

"You only wish to accompany me to Earth to reunite with someone? Not for your freedom?"

"Exactly. Are you in or not? I can prepare us a ship in a few days and we can make our escape at night while the Diamonds are at rest."

He paused. He appeared to be thinking.

"What is there to think about?"

"You were so against leaving. Now you're all ready to go."

"Are you going to idly stand there and question my motives or are you going to take my offer?"

"I'm going to accept your offer. I just wanted to understand you a little better."

"For what purpose?"

"Well, when we first met, you caught my eye."

I blushed. Did I catch someone's eye? With my appearance?

"Take this seriously!"

"I am. I am. Promise."

I was still blushing. I haven't been given such a compliment since Pearl.

"Alright. As I just mentioned, I can prepare us a ship. It makes sense for it to be rather tiny but a ship that is effective nonetheless. To prevent suspicion, we should go days from now when everyone is resting. Any objectives?"

"None. You seem to know what you're doing. Where would you like for us to meet?"

"On the other side of Home World. There's rarely any gems there during the late hours."

"That is true. Alright, Pearl. I will see you in three days at the opposite end of Home World. Does 14:30 am work well for you?"

"It does."

Soon after the Earth conversation, I had with Pearl, that was when White ordered me to sneak into Pink's quarters and stalk both her and Pearl. That was when I saw Pink Diamond's disguise. Before reporting to White, I snuck over to Pearl's room after Pink had retired to her room.

"Pearl!" I said in a loud whisper.

"Pearl!" She said with such enthusiasm. She rushed over to give me a great hug.

"You won't believe the night I just had on Earth."

"You've gone multiple times with Pink Diamond. Why does she shift into someone else?"

"Pearl...did you spy on us?.."

"I was ordered by White Diamond. I had no choice."

"Yes, you do. You could have said no."

"She's not like your diamond Pearl! Mine hits me whenever I disagree with her or even think to do so! Your diamond is not like mine! I am going to tell White Diamond what I saw tonight. Please! Stop going to Earth Pearl...please..." I slowly took her hands in mind. "Stay here, on Home World with me..."

"I can't...I've decided to follow Pink Diamond on her endeavors. She wants to live on Earth and protect all life on it."

I listened to her with hurtful eyes. This feeling again, the one we spoke of was returning - sadness.

"I understand." I let go of her hands and left in my bubble back to White Diamond. I had reported seeing Pink Diamond shift into a being named Rose Quartz. White's smile that night was very mischievous. She appeared as if this was all fun and games and it was, to her.

Soon after, the war broke out. I remained on Home World while just about everyone else fought. Each day I had hope for Pearl's return, that she would come to her sense and come back but, she never did.
