Ellie POV:

After I change, I fall onto the couch in the living room. My dad brings in the pizza box and sits beside me.

"So, How was your first day?" He smiles. I shrug.

"It was okay I guess. Teachers are nice and I haven't been tormented by anyone yet" I laugh. He nods.

"Any friends?" He asks me.

"Yeah I suppose. Their names are Peter and Ned" I reply.

"And what are they like? Come on I want details!" He laughs.

I roll my eyes at him. If I could, I would pour my heart out about how amazing Peter is, but I can't, cos then he would want to know every little thing about him.

"They're nice. Peter showed me around and is helping me settle in, and his friend Ned is pretty cool too" I say, trying not to slip out the fact I have a massive crush on Peter.

My dad just nods, "So all is good?".

I sigh. "Yes dad. You don't need to worry" I smile.

"I know. It's just, I know it's hard, all this moving around. I just want you to be happy" he says squeezing my hand. I squeeze it back.

"Well I am very happy. I'll be fine, for however long we are here" I reassure him.

He worries about me a lot, especially since Mom died. I guess that's why he had me trained and gave me the suit, kind of like a safety net.

After eating, I'm really tired. "Right, I'm gonna go and sleep. Night" I yawn as I make my way to my room.

"Night" he calls after me. Once I reach my room, I collapse onto the bed and get under the duvet.

I can't stop thinking about today. That spider guy was such an idiot. Hopefully I won't run into him again. I know my dad said I have to keep it for emergencies, but, if I make sure no one finds out, that kind of means I can use it, right? I'll have to very careful, cos if anyone finds out, especially Peter, it will mess everything up.

(The next day in class)

The teacher is talking about something, but I can't concentrate with Peter sitting in front of me. He occasionally looks behind him and smiles at me, and I can't help but blush profusely.

"Okay so Ellie, you go with Peter" the teacher says. I quickly snap out of my daydream.

"What is she talking about?" I whisper to Peter.

"The project. You're paired with me" he says. My heart starts to race. Us? Together?!

"Oh......uh....yeah....okay" I stammer, trying to hold back my excitement. The bell rings for lunch, so I pick up my books and quickly walk out of the classroom so Peter can't see me red cheeks.

"Hey Ellie!" Peter calls after me. I sigh as I turn around.

"Hey" I say shyly.

"Um, I was wondering if you wanted to work on the project after school today? Maybe at the library?" He asks me. I freeze for a moment to think about what he just said.

He wants to hang out?! With me?! But wait. I can't cos, you know, people need saving, and that spider guy is no use. Well, maybe we can go to the library quickly for an hour, I can leave and then go out.

"Yeah sure!" I smile awkwardly. Peter nods as he walks beside me.

"You know, we're going to be doing this thing together, and I barely know anything about you. Tell me about yourself" he says, smiling sweetly at me.
