I walked back to my dorm but stopped outside the main dressing room. I'll just quickly check on Christine. I reached for the door but realised it was locked. Strange. So I decided to get out my keys which Meg trusted me with. I opened the door smoothly and closed it behind me. It was empty and all the candles have been blown out.'Christine, Christine' I whisper as crept further into the room. Once sure she wasn't in the room anymore I turned around to walk away. When I saw a slither of light shining through.
Cautiously, I approached the giant mirror and slid the glass back. Behind was a long stone hall with uneven floor. As if in a trance I walked along it. I yelped as a rat ran across my path. I chuckled nervously and carried on walking. I felt a hand come down on my shoulder I spun around and relaxed when I saw Madam Giry. She grabbed my hand led me out of the tunnel and back to my dorm.
When we returned, Joseph Buquet was telling a story of sorts.
'Like yellow parchment is his skin, a great black hole serves as the nose that never grew.
You must always be on your guard or he will catch you with his magical lasso.'I enter with Madam Giry. She lets me go past to Meg and Lizzie. Then she walks up to Joseph and starts to sing.
'Those whose speak of what they know, find too late that prudent silence is wise.
Joseph Buquet hold your tongue, keep your hand at the level of your eyes.
Madam then threw the rope over his neck and tightens it till it's almost choking him.
She then storms out with Buquet in tow.'Meg who was he talking about?' I ask her.
'He was talking about the phantom of the opera of course'
'Phantom?'
She sighed. I smiled apologetically
'The phantom is the ghost that haunts these halls and runs the opera house'
'How does he run the house when no one sees him' asked Lizzie. I nodded in agreement.
'He sends notes down to my mama or the managers if something he doesn't like happens. He can even send notes to individual people if they might get fired or to give a compliment.' Meg explains.
We both nod in understanding.
'Am I getting this right don't annoy him and don't find out his true form as you could be fired or silenced forever'
Meg nodded at me. Wow so extreme'Well goodnight and see you in the morning' I say and climb into the cot. Lizzie and Meg say night as well and fall asleep. But I couldn't rest I had too many questions flowing through my brain. After an hour, I finally manage to fall into another fitful sleep.
