Not Just Another

one

     Sydney's POV-

      This was it. It's the day of the talent show.My best friends and I,Daniela and Quinn are sitting backstage, waiting for our turn to go on. I was very excited, but I noticed the others seemed quite nervous. I walked over to Quinn. "Hey" I snapped my fingers in front of her face and laid my hands on her shoulders. "You're gonna be okay." I whispered softly. "Thanks, you know, it's like you read my mind." We laughed at Quinn's joke. I walked over to Daniela who was standing a little farther back. "We got this. You know that right?" I said to Daniela. She smiled at me and nodded "I know we do. I am just nervous." "Well don't be because we are going to destroy this performance." We heard the person on stage finish and we knew it was our turn to go on. We all quickly glanced at each other and took our place on stage. We heard the music start and we knew it was time to begin.

     Daniela's POV-

       We get up on stage and introduce ourselves. "What's up Lincoln Academy! It's your group NJA (Not Just Another)and we're back!"We began to preform and sing. By the end of our performance we had a standing ovation. Everyone on their feet, cheering us on. We left the stage proud of ourselves. We grabbed each other for a group hug. "Omg guys we were killer," I exclaimed still filled with energy. "We even got a standing ovation!" Quinn exclaimed with a huge smile from ear to ear. " I told you guys we would do awesome" Sydney spoke with a proud yet sweet voice.

     Quinn's POV

      After a few more performances, the show was over and the grades made their way back to their classrooms. Do we really have to go?" Daniela said as she used her whinny voice. "I guess... We could stay!" I exclaimed. "We can stay backstage till everyone leaves," Sydney whispered. We stayed back there until it was dead silent. No one speaking or anyone walking around, dead silent. "Hey guys, I am going to go to the water fountain I am extra thirsty." I exclaimed with my dry throat. I go out the gym doors and I hear foot steps. I run quickly to the water fountain and hide there to make sure no one sees me. As I sat there, nervously, I touch the fountain to pull myself up and the fountain got colder and colder. I look around and no one is there. Still nervous, I push the water button to get what I came out there for. "What? Why is there no water? What is it like, frozen? I really regret even going out here if all it would do is give no water!" I exclaim with anger inside of me. I try to push the button one more time. "OUCH!" "God, why is it hot now? Whatever I don't even care anymore ugh." I got back to the gym with time wasted. We sat in the gym talking and talking. Daniela snap her neck toward the door. "Guys... I think someone is here." Daniela whispered. "Are you sure? I don't hear anything." Sydney says, but with a hint of doubt in herself as she speaks. I shrug but knowing Daniela is never wrong about these things I stare at the door. The announcements come on."Lock Down, I Repeat, Lock Down, This Is Not A Drill!!" We Stare at each other after the announcements end. We run backstage and hide behind the curtains. We stay silent until we see a glimpse of light and people.
