Beautiful Reality

Often times, Felix would wake up in the morning and the nightmares that he had the previous night wouldn't go away when he opened his eyes.

Sometimes, if there was a snarling dog that was in his images when he was asleep, he would often wake up to the sound of the same dog, later seeing it glaring at him in his living room as he walked past to leave the apartment.

He would ignore it and more often than not, he would forget that other people couldn't see what wasn't there, resulting in him telling them to sit anywhere in the living room, then quickly correcting them if they were going to sit on the dog.

Today was different, as he hadn't had a terrifying dream and instead, a beautiful nightmare that had twisted the leaves of autumn around his body and left him smelling pumpkins from the American Southwest and crisp apples from orchards he'd never seen.

Fall was a beautiful reality today and Felix was happy that he walked to school alone, as he could enjoy it while it lasted.

His steps fell lightly on the gray concrete as he walked from his apartment towards the grounds of the college, ignoring the leaves that were standing on the path in front of him that moved every time he was about to step on them, leaving out the satisfying crunch.

When he arrived, Felix went straight to his classes. He didn't really have the time in his heart to properly go over to where the other students hung out, especially the dorms, so he didn't have many friends.

The friends that he did have were far away and as he knew, nothing but dreams.

He sat at the exact same spot he had every day of college, this being his third year: right up front and eager to do whatever the teacher asked.

But something was off today, and it wasn't simply the leaves that had followed Felix in from the outside and were now leaving a fine coating on the desk of the professor. When the bell rang, a group of people that sat in the back of the class came in with someone Felix had never met before.

The new boy went up to the professor and from what Felix could hear, introduced himself as Bang Chan. The professor thanked him, said "This is Bang Chan, our new student" and moved on to finish preparing the lesson for this morning.

The male then walked past Felix, returning to the group of his friends.

Usually, Felix wouldn't have taken any notice but what was astonishing to him that made his eyes subconsciously wander towards the new boy was that the leaves moved for him as well.

Chan didn't want to wake up and quite frankly, he had better things to do than attend a math lecture at a college he didn't really want to be at.

The only reason he'd applied here was that Hyunjin, Jisung, and Seungmin were going to come here as a freshman and Minho was already attending with Changbin. Truth be told, it was and was not his idea to stay in Korea for his last year of schooling before moving onto an agency.

Jeongin also had a hand in it since he was attending a high school that wouldn't be far from the university.

He had convinced Chan, with Minho's help, that the three of them could live in an apartment that was a few blocks from the university campus.

"Channie hyung!"

Jeongin was Minho's little brother, the two of them getting along quite well even though the younger would mostly hang out with his brother and his brother's friends because they were genuinely nice to him.
