It was peaceful.
Three months of being together and everything was peaceful for both Felix and Chan. Chan would be graduating soon and would stay in Korea to live a life with his Felix, to support him through his last years before achieving his bachelor's.
It was by some miracle he'd managed to keep Felix to himself during the week of the talent show.
Chan remembered the moment he first saw Felix onstage.
He didn't look like he filled up much of the space but everyone was waiting with such anticipation Felix held their undivided attention by just emerging from the wings of the stage.
The small student had walked onstage with a guitar in his hands and sat down on a stool in the middle of the stage before playing a melody that snapped through the air at breakneck speed, giving a shock factor, before he soothed the air into a sweet blanket with his voice moments later.
It was a perfect combination, the impressive way Felix managed to let his fingers dance drastically across the strings of the guitar but so effortlessly sing out with all the angels in God's arsenal.
There had been so much applause but Felix was only focused on one person: Chan. He was the only one not standing up, sitting with his mouth open in disbelief with his eyes locked on Felix with a gaze that made him feel warm inside.
After the talent show, where Felix took first again this year, Chan had seen his friends walking out of the theater as he waited for Felix.
Seungmin seemed to be a lot closer to Hyunjin than Chan remembered, the two of them holding hands with a death grip. But Minho wasn't there, leaving Jisung alone with Changbin.
Chan approached them and greeted them, asking them how they were.
Everyone but Seungmin answered back and greeted him happily, staying silent and staring at the ground.
He didn't want to admit that he missed him, he didn't want him to hear the endless strings of apologies he would utter.
The elder walked over to him, taking in a deep breath, and hugged Seungmin.
He could see the turmoil stirring inside of the younger, it was so stupidly strong he knew he needed to accept what Seungmin has done and forget. There was nothing else Chan could do.
It was time.
Seungmin hesitated for a moment, looking at Chan with surprise.
"It's okay," he murmured, "I forgive you."
Those words were all Seungmin needed to let all the turmoil inside him explode. He closed his eyes and pressed his head into Chan's neck to let the tears defy his bubbly appearance.
Chan's hand ran across his back in comfort, the other in his hair to play with it to give him a sense of safety.
Changbin let out an annoyed sigh and moved to stand next to Jisung, who was looking down at his phone as Hyunjin watched the scene with thankfulness flooding his features.
"Where's Minho?" he asked, putting his hands behind his back and looking straight ahead as Seungmin was slowly starting to calm down.
"I don't know," Jisung replied, turning off his phone and looking at Changbin, "I haven't heard from him in a couple of days."
