Song of the Chapter: "Please Notice" by Chrisitan Leave
------------------------------------
Chan noticed Felix seemed scared when he first ran into him and it worried him to see. Concern had spread from his head to his toes and he wanted nothing more than to help the younger male.
He looked like he needed a hug and a warm drink more than anything else.
Chan was more than happy to provide it, it was just a matter of Felix accepting it. And from his quick response, Felix realized he needed it as well.
"Great," Chan replied happily, "Can we go to your place? I'm sharing an apartment with Minho and his little brother at the moment so I'm worried it would be a little overcrowded."
Felix shrugged. As long as he was with Chan, the monster couldn't hurt him.
Walking across the street, it was obvious how deep the monster's words had pierced into Felix. He kept a safe distance from Chan and silently begged Chan would understand.
But the moment they were standing in the elevator, he could feel the breathing of the monster down his neck. He balled his fists together, the breathing getting harder and angrier with each passing moment.
He closed his eyes and tried to count the seconds in his head as his parents taught him when he was little.
One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three...
Chan looked up from his phone with the elevator stopped and the doors opened, taking a step forward only to find Felix was still glued to the same spot. He looked terrified. Maybe he was scared of elevators.
Chan walked back and put a hand on Felix's shoulder, making the smaller student jump in fear and look at him with wide eyes.
"Are you alright?" he asked, tilting his head slightly to the side to reveal his eyes a bit more.
He admitted it felt amazing to be in such close proximity with Felix, much to the point where his heart physically beat against his chest like a hammer, but his sense of worry overrode the basic function of attraction.
Felix looked at his hand and nodded, before quickly stepping out of the elevator. He hated himself for allowing Chan to touch him, standing terrified about whatever pain (fake or otherwise) might come from it.
"Here," he whispered, turning to the door 312, unlocking it easily and opening it to the cold apartment had been silently waiting for Felix's return since he left early that morning.
The air seemed rather stale to Chan, almost like Felix lived here but didn't live here at the same time. Something was missing, that made this feel like a home, and it put Chan off instantly.
To Felix, it was complete as it never had been before.
The rabid dog was there, pacing back and forth in the kitchen. Felix had never been scared of it before, not since he was a kid, but in light of everything that had happened it was only logical he would be scared of his visions at this point.
What if this one could really hurt him?
"Is something wrong Lixie?" Chan asked, setting his coat on the couch in the living room. Felix wasn't the cheery angel he had seen earlier.
His wings didn't shine as bright anymore.
"Chan...um, hyung," Felix spoke softly, locking the door behind him and moving to the living room, "Can I trust you?"
He was fragile, it wouldn't take a genius to see it, and the younger was worried if he touched Felix again he would jump so far back he would shatter. How long would it then cost him to piece such a precious angel back together?
