THE LORD OF THE UNDERWORLD

───── ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ─────

IT HADN'T COME as a surprise to the seven Gods watching that he finally cracked. If anything, it was anticipated - bets had even been made. But what happened next - now, that wasn't expected.

Hades, son of Kronos, has been known as the most misjudged God by the people of his realm and them only. The rest of the world and the Gods that call themselves his family were the ones that treated him badly like he was the rotten child in a family of thousands when they were the ones that were destroying it. According to the residents of the Underworld, he is one of the kindest and most truthful Gods they have come across. Sure, his domain is entirely terrifying when you think about it and you would think the same thing about its ruler.

However, that wasn't the case here.

The Underworld changes its appearance depending on what you have done in your earlier life. It could be absolute hell had you been a murderer or a thief but it could also be a beautiful valley where you could wait for your family and spend an eternity with them there if you were just and kind.

And if you're a God, you can only see the versions he wants you to see as he has full control of his home. But he saw and cherished all of them.

The seven Gods watched from afar as the poor Lord cried and screamed on his knees, in his arms a beautiful bouquet of wildflowers with various colours. He clenched it close to his heart as bright blue flames of pure fire engulfed the whole throne room. As another scream pierced through the air, all of them flinched, the sky outside the giant window turning darker by the minute till it was nothing but pitch black.

None of them moved towards him, knowing fully well that he wanted to be alone but still they didn't leave the room afraid of what he would do if they did. One of the younger Gods, Sloth, whimpered in his animal form slowly moving towards one of his sisters for he didn't like the sight his eyes were greeted with. It was Envy who kneeled in front of him and took him in her arms and soon she started humming under her breath to distract him.

Her long green hair brushed against his face and he used his longs nails to play with it. The Goddess didn't seem to mind as she moved to the back of the group for privacy, receiving a few stares from a few of them, especially Wrath who rolled his eyes at Sloth's antics. Envy sneered at him as she pushed past him and he nustled closer into her arms for comfort.

Sloth was believed to be weak as he was the youngest of the seven siblings but he just had a big heart and an even bigger adoration for sleep. He hated seeing his friend in pain, he hated hearing him scream and wail for his wife and most of all, he hated the Gods above from taking his only source of happiness.

It was believed by everyone above that Persephone was abducted and forced to be a Queen but the cunning little Goddess chose to eat the fruit, she chose to become Queen and she chose to fall for him. And now she was taken, Zeus' treaty thrown into Tartarus as Hermes flew down and took her against her will, saying her parents demanded her in the other world.

And now, the seven Gods watched a husband mourn his wife as if she were dead because he knew all damn well that he wouldn't be able to see her again. At first, he had considered going up there himself and getting her from them but then, the realisation struck him and he fell on his knees crying all over again.

Had he made a move to ambush Olympus, he would be considered an enemy of Zeus and thus, once caught he would be trialled and killed without a second thought. And he would be damned if he let them lay a finger on his people.
