CHAPTER TWO
FAMILY RELATIONS───── ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ─────
TO MY ASTONISHMENT, I was alive the next time I opened my eyes and everything I thought to be a dream were actually true.
I didn't realize it at first, my mind going blank on memories and my eyes couldn't focus on anything. There was a pounding in my head and all my limbs felt sore as I tried to move my body, the slightest movement causing a wince to escape from me.
It was as if my bones were rusted and no matter how many times I tried to stretch and get up, I always found myself back in the same position, on my side with my hands under my head and my knees brought up to my chest. It wasn't by any means comfortable but I couldn't do anything about it. It was then I started recalling what happened the last time I was awake.
My apartment. Silence. That strange man. A bright light.
I had no idea if that was last night or weeks ago but what I did know was that I needed to get out of wherever the hell I was quick. That woman took me after she got rid of the man trying to kill me. My eyes scanned the room, trying to find anything to help me but it was all useless when I couldn't even move my own body. It was as if it had a mind of its own or someone was controlling it.
My breath hitched. That couldn't be true. I mean I know what I had seen last, that strange man shifting from an animal-like creature to a human but my eyes had to be deceiving me.
I tried to examine my legs as I remembered my injuries but I only caught a glimpse of what seemed to be bandages wrapped around the lower part of them and my knees. I was still wearing the same clothes which was good but I still had no idea where and with who I was.
The room I was in wasn't dark by any means. The bed's sheets were a pale beige-yellow colour that matched the couch that was across from me. The wooden floor was dark grey which contrasted with the white walls that seemed to have a golden moving pattern on them that looked like waves. All the decor I could see like pillows, lamps and a table matched that colour scheme. Even the flowers looked like gold. My eyes next fell on the door at the end of the wall.
I gritted my teeth as I willed my body to move. I needed to get up, I had to get out of there. Every time I moved though, my body continued coming back to the same position which after a while got very tiring. The pain had subsided, my headache too but my determination to get up was still there.
"Come on," I tried again, "You can't stay here, you need to get up. Come on," I pushed with all my might and watched dumbfounded as my right leg straightened and stayed there. I could have cried had it not been for the voices outside the room. My heart sped up, I quickly moved my other leg and soon enough, moving became easier.
Not as easy as it should be but easy enough for me to sit up and scan the room. I had nowhere to hide and there weren't any other doors for me to check for a way out. I grabbed a vase close to me and turned to face the door just as it opened.
Two figures emerged from the opening, one unknown but extremely attractive male and the woman who saved me and probably brought me here too. I held my breath as they both stopped and looked at me in shock.
The woman turned over to the male and started screaming at him in another language while pointing at me. The male just stared with wide eyes. I took that time to drink them in. They were both very attractive. They kind of looked alike too but you could tell they weren't related. The female had a more round face while the male was all about sharp edges and cheekbones. They both had blonde hair but the male's eyes were golden and hers were purple.
