Chapter 20: When I'm with you

Simon's POV

I have to keep the promise with Amanda, have a new partner even though I'm not ready to give up her. Amanda is actually right, it isn't a big problem for me to find a partner because there are many girls outside waiting to be my girlfriend. However, none of them really fits me or could be with me for so long.
I met Lauren and soon fall in love with her. She's completely my cup of tea, my ideal type of person. At some times, when I was with her, I can forget about Amanda. It wasn't hard like I thought it would be. Lauren always stayed by my side during the season of AGT, and helped me a lot in doing the shows
I received the news that Amanda had given birth to her daughter successfully as soon as I came back to London after my business trip. I'm about to visit her the next morning but Amanda called me first in the late night
- Still you awake?
She said with a low tone
-About to sleep, and you call
-Oh, I'm sorry... I just want to ask whether you will come
-Right now, darling?
I was quite surprised when Amanda asked to come over the hospital
-Yah... But if you mind because it is quite late, it's ok
-I will be there. Send me the room you're in
I replied with no hesitated and quickly take my car key.

It took me a while to get to the hospital and look for Amanda's room. I open the door and walk in, she's lying on the bed, seems tired
-Oh Simon. Good to see you. How do you do?
She asked
-I'm good darling. You looks tired
I come to sit on her bed
-Where's Chris? I haven't seen him for a while...
-He has just brought Lexi home, she keeps crying because she was so sleepy
Amanda answered and got up to talk to me
-You look really tired darling, is everything fine?
I can't stop myself from worrying when Amanda being like this
-The operation was completely successful. I was really glad... I first thought I would lose her again...
She started to burst into tears. I realized that Amanda was mentioned her son, who she had miscarried two years ago. I know it was a big shock in her lifetime, even though she is a steel woman. I can't do nothing but hugging her tight in my arms
-Don't be like that darling. Everything is fine. Now, you're could be mother of your daughter
-Thanks Simon
She whispered
-Have you picked a name for her yet?
-We did. Hollie, Hollie Rose Hughes
- What a beautiful name! I wondered where is she?
I asked
-She was taken care in a special room. She's a little bit weak
-So, just two of us together tonight?!
-I think so. Actually, I called you here because I was so bored and, I want to have someone to talk with. And your name suddenly crossed my mind... Sorry for calling you this late, you must be with Lauren at that time
She seems apologetic. I pinched on her nose and smiled
-I do, but how can I turn my lovely Manda's invitation down. I've also promised, always ready when you need me
I suddenly feel her lips on mine, soft and warm. I want to ask her why she did that
-Amanda you...
-I know I've said this before, but thank you Simon... Don't say anything, can we just be like this, for a little more
-I will. I will stay until you sleep. Have some sleep darling, you must be tired after these hard days. When you wake up, your daughter will be next to you, safe and sound. Last but not least, congratulations for being a mother
I kiss Amanda softly on her forehead, and slowly place her head down the pillow. I stroke her hair gently  and wait till Amanda really fall asleep.
-Gosh, you are so beautiful, even that you're not as you used to after the prenancy
I sighed, can't take my eyes off her face. I give her another kiss on the forehead and hold her hands tightly, she is now sleeping soundly

Chris's POV

As soon as took Lexi home, I quickly turned back to the hospital to make sure Amanda is still fine. I'm about to open the door and I see someone sitting next to her bed. It is Simon, maybe Amanda has called him here. Amanda is sleeping and Simon seems to fall asleep on her bed. I first want to walk into cause I'm now extremely jealous, but I hesitated for a second because Amanda used to say that could hardly sleep these days and Simon was the only person who can make her sleep soundly like this, I really don't want to wake her up
-You lucky this time, Simon. Just only one time, I will let you do this
I try to calm down and go home. Maybe I should be back in the morning, to make sure my wife will have a good sleep and Simon leave
