Chap 21 Misunderstanding

Amanda's POV

I wake up and try to make out everything. I've never slept soundly like this since giving birth to my daughter. Simon was here, last night, sitting next to me. Even though I was sleeping so soundly, I could clearly remembered how tight he held my hand. However, I know it's time to stop daydreaming , Simon must have left last night after making sure that I was deeply in sleep, and go back to reality.
-Good morning, honey
Chris smiled, while pouring some juice for me
-Morning, honey. Is Lexi alright?
-Yah, she doesn't seem want to stay at the hospital so immediately fell asleep as soon as we got home... By the way, was there anybody else here last night?
-Why?
-I just guess, there are two bottles of water on the table. Who had come that late?
He asked. I glanced at the expression on Chris's face to check whether he has already known about Simon's coming or not, but I can't make out what is actually in his head
-Well, yes... It's Simon, I called him to come because I was so bored at that time
I can't do nothing but telling the truth. It would be even more trouble if Chris finds out I'm lying to him
-Uhm, ok. Anyway, you should have some more rest. I'll go out for a cigarette
I'm quite surprised because he didn't be jealous like he usually, but I do feel lucky because there wasn't any problem between us that could bother Simon. He just came because I called him, he just came because I want to see him so bad

Lauren's POV
Simon came back home at 4 in the morning and head straight to the bedroom. He suddenly left without saying anything last night after a call, and came back in the early morning. I was curious who had called him, because there is no way Simon leaves house at night except that person is important to him
-Where have you been darling?
-Amanda. She called me to visit her
He replied staightly
-You should have informed me about that. You can't just go like that and left me alone all night
-What could I do? She needed me... It's Amanda
I can't say anything. He's so right. Since it was Amanda, I know I'll have to accept and try to forget it. The relationship between them is something that I've always been curious of. I know they're not only just friend, but never had I wanted to ask Simon about this again, cause everytime I brought this up to him before, it's usually ended up an arguement.

Simon's POV
Amanda told me she wanted to come back for the liveshow fin which makes me completely overjoyed
-Is it alright for you?
I asked her again
-Definitely. I miss you guys so bad that I really want to be back. Don't have to worry about my health, I'm recovered now, and Chris will help me to take care of Hollie
-So that would be a great news for me... And for everybody too!
I arrived at the theatre earlier than usual. Not just because I have to get ready for the show, I was so looking forward to seeing Amanda that I can't help but go, before Lauren, she will come later
-What brings you here so early like this my boss?!
The music supervisor asked, she's busy checking the sound
-To welcome our lovely judge's coming back
-I miss her too. Despite her pregnancy, she's still really beautiful
-That's why I chose her at the first place
I smiled
Amanda finally arrived, I'm standing in the front door waiting for her. She showed her big shiny smile as soon as recognized me
-Good evening darling
I smiled back, and then stepped up to give her a hug, and a kiss on her forehead
-Miss you so much, big boss!!!
I'm about to reply her back but then I suddenly feel her lips on mine. She kissed me softly on my lips, and a big smile on her face. Amanda's face is extremely excited, and for a second, my heart starts beating fast. I thought this feeling has come to an end, maybe for a few months, but now it's coming back. I turn away to hide my blushing face, my hands are still holding tight hers.
-Let's move on darling. It's the finale
I said.

Lauren's POV
Simon left sooner than usual. It's even much strange as he didn't wait for me to come with. Therefore, I pick up my stuffs, put some makeup on and catch a taxi to the theatre by myself. I suddenly realize that Amanda will be back for the final today on the way to the theatre.
-Can you drive faster please, I need to be there RIGHT NOW
I told the taxi driver and he does like what I ask. I arrive at the theatre, quickly find my seat and try to look for my boyfriend. It just takes a while that my eyes catch him. He's standing behind the stage, talking with the staffs. Then Amanda comes forward him and they start to have some close acts. Closer than friends usually do. I keep starring at them like that until Simon waves at me, I ignore him.
The show finally begins, all the judes walk out. Alesha is holding David's hand and Simon's holding Amandas' just like usual. I'm getting so used to with this. But this time, he even helps Amanda to walk down the stairs, holding her hand tightly. They placed on their seats, Simon turns round to say hello to me and reply him back. However, it doesn't last for so long, he quickly shows his back to me and starts talking with Amanda. Almost the show, Simon's chatting freely with Amanda, they usually move closer and whisper to each other. They look just like a real couple and I'm completely jealous.
-Simon, why you kept turn your back to me whole the show???
I asked him at the end of the final. We're getting ready for the late party
-Did I?
-Yes you did. And most of the time, you're looking at your fellow judge
I said sarcastically. Then let myself out his arm
-Aren't you jealous...
-I should be
I replied.
-Haven't I told you there's nothing-
-I've always tried to pretend not to care about that. Your excuse is always "We're just good friend" or something like that. But you know what, as far as I know, no one be that close to their friend, especially when that's a woman! No one kiss, hug, and do some romantic stuffs like you too!
I cannot control and lose my temper, I shout at Simon, something I've never done before. I quickly stand up and rush outside. I thought he will chase after and grab my hand but he didn't. I head to the car and drive back to my own house.

Amanda's POV
I go to Simon's dressing room to check whether he and Lauren have get ready or not. I hear a loud voice, and a few second later, Lauren rushes outside uncontrollably. I immediately walk inside. Simon is sitting on the sofa, holding his face with both hands
-Simon, what has happened? Did you and Lauren had an arguement?
I asked worriedly. He doesn't reply me just sighs. I sit down next to him and place one hand on his back. We just sit sit like that for a while, he suddenly asks.
-We're friend, aren't we?
-Yes, we are. Why did you ask that? What's wrong Simon? You behaved really strange
-Lauren was jealous, because we're so close
He mumbled, really small but enough for me to hear.
-I'm sorry, Simon. I'll find her to explain everything! You guys can't argue because of me.
I said, and am about to look for Lauren, but Simon grabs my hand
-It wasn't your fault, and it never is. We've been together for 5 years and I'm not gonna let anyone ruin our friendship
-But we might be so close to each other that many people thought us as a couple. Even my fans... even Chris
-Chris, when?
He asked shortly.
-When you visited me in the hospital, he didn't say it out but I can feel it through his look. And some times before
Simon doesn't say anything then. And we don't be so close like usual. Both of us sit on another side of the sofa, I don't know why but I may have moved far from him unconsciously.
- -I've always wondered... Is every friend in the world be close like us?
-Not all of them. But we don't need to be like them, cause they would never know how many things we've been through and how long we've been together.
Simon raised his voice tone a little bit. He reminds me of everything. There're so many things had happened in the past 5 years. We used to have a date, and I did sleep with him because we were both drunk. We was nearly become a couple, but then afterall, our life is seperated.
-People can judge me, but I won't let anyone insult you. I can face all the judgements but I know you can't. I clearly know that you're not a bad woman, I know what you've suffered from, your divorce in the past, wasn't your fault.
He continued to break the silence.
-But you did move far away from me. And you said you don't want others misunderstood...
-Just to protect you. There were rumors that you sleep with me to get this job at that time. And all I could do was tried to prevent the rumors spread
He sighed and then smiled sadly.
-You know I love you darling
-I do too, Simon. I've always been in love with you as a co-workers, as a good friend and as a family.
In somehow our hands move closer then finally connect together, mine is on his, lacing tightly.
