and when i thought i couldn't
love you any more
than i already did
i chose to show you
what's beyond
my unfaltering smile
my supposedly smooth edges
i chose to show you
parts of me I'd reserved
for nobody
until you
i showed you the broken edges
the invisible scars
tracing my silken skin
I'd wanted you to
hold me tight
putting all the broken bits
back together
but you,
all you did was cut yourself
on my edges
and blame me for it
i let you into my past
to see the girl
who cried silently
when nobody could hear
who never let the world see
this other side of her
but i showed you
i showed you the most
vulnerable parts of me
all because i loved you
but you,
all you did
was call me weak.
