i was a rose
in a field of lilies
scarlet petals
like a drop of blood
in the milky way
i bloomed just like
they did
and i caught your eye
after all
I was a rose
among the lillies
you came
to touch me
your callous skin
rough against the
velvety scarlet petals
hungry
to taint my innocence
but my thorns
cut into your skin
you stepped back
silent curses
escaping your lips
after all
i was a rose
in a field of lilies
i will have thorns
you should've known
