Arthit Pov
After that week we had to return to school and it really took me some effort to blend in again. Luckily I didn't have to be constantly on my guard, looking out for people shadowing or trying to harm me in some way. Now that Bright was gone people suddenly were a lot more kind to me but I wouldn't really answer much to their sudden words friendliness. They couldn't say anything when Bright was around and now I wasn't in need of some fake friends. So I went my way mostly alone just like before and for me it was fine that way. I'd rather be more alone than with lots of people.
Out life was picking up and I must admit it was good to be back in a normal schedule again. Studying the music, playing the auditorium organ though Kong was now at my side pulling the stops. That had cost me some effort though. He knew as much about organs as my visibility, 0%. I had laughed when he had made the offer to help when he had seem how I sometimes struggled with the stops.
Flashback
Why do you think I can't do this? You know as much about music as I know about politics, in short zero. Well 1. I could learn and 2. You know a lot about politics, so.. KONG!!!! You want me to broadcast your nickname through the PA system? Fine, then let me also broadcast yours, would be a rather interesting dialogue, though I think the conversation in the deans office would be even more interesting, grumble, hmpf, please give me a chance nah, nah, nah? Please Oon? Don't whime so much, you are not a baby, it's fine but if you don't master the basics in 2 weeks then you are out.
End of flashback
But he had learned it darned fast. Flying around to pull and push, close and open the swell pedal regulating the general volume and responding to my yells. Once I was playing I would just yell the stops he had to pull out or close. And as the organ was of a dutch builder he had to learn the Latin alphabet bet to be able to recognize the names I yelled at him which included but where not limited to, trompet bazuin nasard roerfluit gemshoorn dulciaan fagot schalmeij kromhoorn prestant octaaf bourdon viola-di-gamba celeste fluit hobo mixtuur cornet quint sequialter, carillon, tertiaan, scherp vox-humana tremulant and koppel. I wasn't really nice when playing but we both knew it wasn't personal. When he made a mistake I could lash out at him while getting very angry. While playing my emotions always got the better of me Especially when playing larger pieces when he would be running around to handle my commands mistakes were made and since I had very sensitive ears I wouldn't ever miss a mistake. (Though I sometimes remained silent if it sounded nice). When he progressed I gave him more latitude to do things according to his insights with the help of the musical partita. I studied those things before playing and them listened to my recordings while fingerreading the partita to find whether I had played it correctly. Though he didn't realize he had quite good musical instincts and his initiatives in registering were sometimes quite nice and other times they just weren't but that was something we talked about while listening to the recordings we made.
It had become tradition though, after a piece was over that I would wipe his forehead and he would wipe mine. He would listen to what I played and give advice. He had taken care of a microphone installation so I could wear a good headphone to hear how things sounded down on the floor. It was quite a difference whether one listened on the gallery or on the auditorium floor.
At one point he had asked me whether I wouldn't like to give concerts in the auditorium. Though I was a bit nervous about it I had said it was alright with me so 2 weeks later the auditorium was filled with people while I and kong sat in our suits on the gallery, with beamers projecting me and kong at the playtable of the instrument so that the people could see us.
