Arthit Pov
When I woke up the next morning I felt two arms around me. What the heck had happened, why was he laying here? The memories slowly reappeared in my mind. Telling me a story I didn't really want to know. At least he hadn't kept a distance after what he told me but now it was up to him to show me I could trust him. I tried to get out of his arms but soon realized that I was stuck until he would let me go. Kongpob, let me go, I need to go make breakfast. But there was no reaction, except for some mumbling. Kong, I pushed him a little, wake up. He slowly let me go, could you make me some breakfast for me too? With a short nod I left the bedroom while being still in my pajamas. I had to leave early as it was payment day again. When I looked at the balance of my bank account I sighed, it wouldn't be long until the money would have gone and with it my "life insurance", what would happen afterwards? Something inside me told me I should tell Kongpob what was going on but I didn't want to, even if he could help me I would only bring him trouble. He might want to help me but what could I offer him in return for it? I might be rich but so seemed he, plus Bright was making me poor at lightning speed, aside of that I was blind as well, and thus useless. Deep inside I knew I could trust him so that wasn't really the issue anymore I just didn't want to involve him in my misery.
The breakfast that morning was a silent one, we both had many things in our minds to think about. When we had finished he suddenly spoke would you like a ride to the campus? I was happy to comply, the daily walk was exhaustive and especially during rush hours it costed me an awful lot of focus and energy to get to the campus safely and in one piece. The ride was silent as well but when we arrived at the campus he had one last question: Can I come if you are gonna play the organ in the auditorium? I'd to see how the things works. Fine, I'll text you. Normally I did not want anybody to be present at the playtable or organgallery when I was playing the instrument, It inhibited my focus and made me nervous but if he wanted I would make an exception for him. Plus what could possibly go wrong.
That afternoon I went to the auditorium with him, giving him a tour inside the instrument, how it was played and worked and showing of my abilities as a musician in front of him. He liked the music it seemed but I had forgotten one minor detail when allowing him to come, the bench was far too small to sit on with two person leading us to constantly brush our shoulders and legs accidentally against each other. He didn't seem to mind it but I was completely tensed until he must have sensed it and went to stand aside.
After that morning the time went on, he pampered me in any way he could though I must admit I did the same, he was driving me to the campus and back to the dorm, fetching me lunch, preparing breakfast, cooking dinner, cleaning up, doing the laundry, Ironing, joking, and playing chess or at least he tried to because I usually wanted to do the same things for him so in most cases it ended up in either dividing the work or doing it together. He was a real prince though, burning food the first time, burning his fingers when he tried to iron, or doing the laundry but forgetting to adjust the temperature leading to some piece that had shrunk in the wash. So I took the lead in explaining to him all those housework things. For the other part He helped me with my clothes, though whether it was really an improvement could be questioned. Dinner we cooked together in the kitchen, making cooking an endless stream of jokes, laughter and crazy actions. Yeah if I was honest I sure liked his company it had given some rays of light in my life after all the darkness.
As for playing chess, Yeah that thing sure was pretty difficult but as long as he told what he moved and where he moved it I knew precisely how everything stood on the board and honestly I was quite good at it but he was as well often leading to prolonged parties that could take hours for us to finish. Another factor causing the lengthy parties was that he seemed to think endlessly over one move whereas I was pretty much impulsive once I had a strategy. Which was the same in real life, I usually was very cautious but sometimes I could make impulsive decisions based on how things felt but also on my ability to think faster than most other people. And usually those decisiom turned out to be the good one but people nearly ever understood that although I decided very fast I had thought about it in a way that cost me just seconds or fractions of it while others would use much longer for exactly the same thinking process. Like what I told Kongpob that evening, that wasn't really something I planned, it was just an improvisational, impulsive decision that turned out right. While time moved along we had become closer and closer, making homework together, waking the other up in time. When we had a day off he had taken me to the mall in order to get me some fashionable clothes. My current wardrobe pretty much consisted of 4 colors: black, grey white and blue. He thought that I needed something new I didn't buy it but if he thought so I could give it a try. So instead of the usual white shirts, navy blue suits, grey ties, navy pants and grey leather shoes I now returned with a yellow polo and black jeans accompanied by some nice Nike airmax. But when he started to talk about my haircut and glasses I had stopped him, a change of clothes could be tolerated but swapping my glasses or changing my decade old haircut was too much. Even though I couldn't see it I still wanted to have a certain formal style. According to him it was a pity I couldn't see it myself, it would, in his words, take away all need for him to convince me to change my fashion. I had shrugged at his words, don't try and change me into who you want me to be, one gets what one sees. No more, no less.
