"Where are those little demon spawns?!" A sudden boom erupted outside my door; due to the deepness of the yell, it was easy to decipher whose it was. I covered my face with my pillow, as I didn't want to get up yet. Ugh, Jason, Rachel, Tim and Sam must be fighting with the demon duo, Damian and Emma again! I groaned and reluctantly dragged myself out of bed, leaving the comforting sheets behind much to my dismay. My name is Emily Grayson. I am the last of the flying Graysons, along with my brother, Richard, most commonly known as 'Dick' for some particular reason, it's best not to question it. For 16 years, me and my brother Dick Grayson have been living with billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne in Gotham city. Things have changed though. I live with my twin brother, my dad, and my brothers and sisters. After me and Dick moved out Bruce adopted some more 'peculiar' people. Jason Rachel Todd ,Tim Sam Drake, and his actual kids apparently Damian and Emma Wayne.
(This is what Emily's costume looks like except she has short hair. She is very much like her brother. She is very determined to prove to the world what she can do.)
I walked to my bathroom and rubbed at my tired face; it was a mess honestly with my bedridden hair, long-drawn out cyan hues filled with utter exhaustion. Taking a small glance into the mirror, I saw someone I hadn't seen since I was nine; my mother. Everyone has told me that I look like my mom. I suppose it's true, for the most part at least. Tearing my gaze away from the reflective glass as I could feel tears starting to form in my eyes, I started to prepare myself for the day ahead, listening to my favorite music as I got ready to head out the door. When I was only a child, music was my ticket out of my crazy life and to a place where life is not as hard and, well, depressing. I walked over to my dormant closet and pulled out the clothes I needed; undergarments, a shirt, and pants. 'Better get downstairs once I finish changing," I thought to myself. 'Let's see what my siblings are fighting about this time.'After dressing, I patterned my way down the stairs and into the living room, where I witnessed my younger brothers attempting to rip each others throats out while Dick was trying to rip them apart and convince them not to kill each other. My sisters were also fighting also much to my disappointment, I would have to stop them before things escalated. Rushing over, I took hold of Emma's arms and attempted to yank her off of the opposing sibling (Sam), though it seems my strength wasn't enough for Emma to let go. "Emma, let go of her!" I yelled at her, though she only responded with hostility. "Shut up Grayson!" she yelled back. With another tug, I managed to rip her off. She tried to run back and continue the fight but I grabbed the neck of her shirt, holding her back. "ENOUGH!" I yelled with an irritated tone, and by the looks on everyone's faces, they were clearly shocked that I had to raise my voice in order to silence their idiotic fights. Huh, guess they really didn't expect me to raise my voice like that. I played the role of 'sweet nice girl' pretty good didn't I? I am not kidding, to my family i'm the "golden child". "I swear to god if you guys don't knock this off, I will bash all of your heads in." All of my younger siblings hadn't responded yet, so I'm gonna speculate that my threat worked. Not very shocking as my family had said that they are afraid of me. Thanks to this chaotic event, I had decided that I would just give Dick a couple bucket loads of sugar and let them deal with him, cue evil laugh.
See, whenever Dick has a crazy amount of sugar, he goes on a crazy full on sugar rush, and it ends up with us playing a game we like to call 'hide-and-don't-shriek'. Basically, you are hunted down by the sugar-high man himself (though sometimes others do the hunting), and if you are found the person seeking can do whatever they want to you. Usually Dick is the one seeking so, he ties them up and why it's called shriek is because, when he finds you it's kind of terrifying; those crazed, hyperactive blue eyes, just thinking about it gives all of my siblings the shivers. My siblings once decided to give him sugar once when Bruce was out. It did not go well for them. They have developed a hatred for hide and don't shriek which I will sometimes use to my advantage. An echo of sorries was heard, I smiled and headed to dining room for breakfast.
The bat family sat down at the table eating breakfast and or chatting with one another. Bruce soon walked in joining the rest of the family. Again,an echo of good morning was heard. Bruce just smiled, and started to eat his breakfast. Emily looked at her phone, and her eyes widened. "Shoot,I'm gonna be late." she said. "For what?" Bruce asked. "Me,Kory,Rachel, and Karen were planning on going out today" she explained. "So, you're going to the mall" Dick stated plainly. Emily just nodded in response, and ran upstairs to grab her bag. This is what life is like in the family. Well, during the day at least. At night, that's when things get a bit more complicated. Siblings do fight but, they have to put those differences aside and work together. Especially, now.
