After the attack on the labyrinth, the court hadn't been heard from for weeks. A victory like this should have been celebrated. No one celebrated. The court was only defeated by a friend's sacrifice. Nightclaw was gone. Sunfire had ended up in a coma. Not even Raven seemed to be able to wake him. At Wayne Manor, everything was quiet. The quiet was new to everyone there. Bruce had locked himself away in the batcave, rarely ever seen by any of the other residents at the manor. Dick Grayson sat in his sister's room, clutching one of the only things left of Emily Grayson. He looked down at the object in his hand. An old necklace with a silver circle around a moon charm and a black string as the chain rested in his palm. The one thing Emily always wore. Their mother gave them each a necklace when they were kids to remind them that they would always be together. "You and me." Dick whispered with a broken voice. A tear rolled down the side of his face. He was now the last of the flying Graysons.

Bruce sat down in the batcave, staring at the large computer screen of the batcomputer. The court had seemed to disappear off the face of the earth. Bruce wanted to wrap up all the loose ends though. Lincoln March had been arrested and sent to jail. William and Vanessa cobb had been defeated, and were never going to be heard from again. When Vanessa was killed, Bruce discovered that the talons all had a compound tooth that was filled with a chemical known as electrum. Dick told Bruce that Emily believed that the talons had a healing factor. And, since Dick and Emily were suppose to become talons, they had the healing factor as well. Dick's healing factor had activated when they first fought the talons. But why didn't Emily's? Emily was meant to be a Talon, but her wounds never showed any signs of healing. He had to know why her healing factor didn't activate and save her.

All the batkids sat in the living room of Wayne Manor, not saying a word to one another. "I should've stopped her." Tim said, breaking the silence. "What could you've done? You know how she was. There was nothing that could stop her." Barbara said. "Not nothing apparently." Rachel said. "Emily." Cass said. Everyone turned to look at Cass, who was looking down at something. "What are you looking at Cass?" Stephanie asked. "Emily." Cass repeated, now holding up a video camera with a black strap on the right side, and the screen showing a video out. Emma got up from the chair she was sitting on with her brother, and looked at the picture on the screen. The camera belonged to Emily, and in it's memory were all videos she had filmed of her friends, family, or some video diary entries she made. Cass pressed play and continued watching the video.

"Hello to anyone watching this, I'm Emily Grayson and the one behind the camera is my twin brother, Dick Grayson. Say hi Dick." Emily said. "Hi Dick." Dick said from behind the camera. Emily started laughing at her brother. "Sorry about him. He's him." Emily said, still giggling a little. "So, Emily what are we doing today?" Dick asked. "Well, the two of us are going with our friends, the titans on our annual summer trip to the grand canyon. We're actually leaving today. We're just waiting for everyone to finish packing." Emily explained. "Pretty much." Dick said. Somebody came in off screen, and asked Emily something. "Uh, Wally I think that was you." Emily answered. "Why would you make me get the tent?! Because according to you, I'm an idiot!" Wally exclaimed. "I didn't think you would be this dumb. I thought that you were smart enough to not forget the most important thing for our trip." Emily argued. "How could you forget though? You've known him for years. You know he's dumb, and that he forgets things easily." Dick stated. "Well, I uh - ah." Emily said, now facing the camera. "Gahh!" Emily exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air, walking around. "That pretty sums up everybody's life here." Dick said jokingly. "Story of my life."Emily said. "Emily, we've talked about this. You have to stop being depressing." Wally stated. "Depression!" Emily yelled and or sang, throwing her fist up into the air. The three of them started laughing and talking a little. Every single one of them had a smile on their face, but none were as big as the grin Emily wore.

Bruce rubbed his thumb and pointer finger against the bridge of his nose. He knew the lack of sleep could get to him at some point, but he couldn't stop. He looked up at the computer screen. On the screen was the message "SIMULATION FAIL". That was the twentieth time his simulation had failed. But he wasn't going to stop trying. He couldn't. What he was trying to do was too important. To him, to his family, to the entire world. Bruce continued typing away at the keyboard, his eyes glued to the screen. TCK, TCK, TCK. The only sound heard in the batcave was Bruce furiously typing at the batcomputer.
