Life in the Batfamily

Chapter 3

The eldests of the family lead their siblings to their father's room in the watchtower. They placed their items inside the room,and everyone sat down not knowing what to do next. Jason punched the wall in anger which caused all of the others to jump in surprise. "We are heroes, we shouldn't be hiding out in some stupid space station!" he yelled in anger. "He's trying to protect us" Emily said in a calm voice. "By locking us away!" Jason screamed at her. Emily took a deep breath,she had to stay calm. " He knows that we can and want to help but if this man was able to find us during the day without us knowing then he's a pretty smart guy. At the manor I couldn't shake this feeling that something bad was happening. And it felt like there was someone nearby who was watching me." Emily said. "So, he followed you all the way home from the mall?"Dick asked his sister concerned. "That's what it seems like" Emily replied, her worry growing bigger and bigger by the minute. "Jason's right though, we are trained by Batman to fight bad guys. Why can't we fight this one guy. I would just love to put a bullet between his fuckin eyes" Rachel said yelling as well. Emily and Dick looked at each other and agreed that they should be told the truth. "Before we left, Bruce told us why he was doing this, why he was sending us away" Dick sid looking all of them in the face. "Why would father tell you two, why not tell the rest of us" Emma asked her big brother. "He thought that you guys might freak out if you knew the truth" Emily said directly to Emma. She let out a deep sigh knowing she couldn't keep tiptoeing around it. "The truth is, he's afraid. He's afraid that if we had stayed and helped, one of us would get hurt" she said with a sad look in her eyes. "That makes sense" Sam said. Everyone looked at her with somewhat of confused looks. "Remember how he acted when Jason, Rachel, Damian,Emma, me, Tim,  or even Dick and Emily died" Sam reminded them. How could they forget? All at one point in their vigilante career,they had been killed and then brought back to life. "Sam has a point and we all remember what happened when you disappeared" Tim said pointing at Emily. No one could forget that. Emily had gone to visit her cousin in New York,and on her way to the airport, she crashed her car,and was then abducted by the queen of the gods, Hera as she was needed to defeat Gaia. The entire family went insane as they were trying to find her, they couldn't lose someone else. "How about we play a game"Emily asked her siblings trying to lighten the mood. "Truth or dare" Rachel asked her siblings. Soon enough, they started playing and the game ended after a couple of pranks being played on the league members who came to stop by. All eight of them were tired and fell fast asleep.

    The zeta tube went off announcing that Batman had returned. He headed off towards his room thinking that's where his kids would be. "Please let nobody be dead" he thought to himself. He had only told Dick and Emily the truth about why he was sending him here. He was afraid of losing another one to his life. He got to his room,opened the door and what he saw made him smile. All of his kids were lying on the bed,snuggled together. Dick and Emily were sitting against the headboard. Damian and Emma were sleeping against the two of them clinging to them with an arm wrapped around them. Tim and Sam were lying against Jason and Rachel who seemed to be holding them protectively. He heard footsteps behind him and turned to see it was just superman. "I'm glad they're okay" Batman told him. "For now" Superman said. Before Batman could do anything, he was hit in the head hard,and was knocked unconscious.

    The so called superman worked quickly. He pulled out a device and threw it to the ground. A zeta tube like portal opened up and he looked over at the kids. He grabbed Tim and Sam off the bed, going to throw them through the portal. But, Jason and Rachel woke up and saw the so called hero holding their siblings. Anger and rage filled the two as they charged at him but, he just hit and then shoved them through. He then threw Tim and Sam through without another thought. He carefully pulled Damian and Emma out of their siblings arms,and through the portal they went through. "Now for the last two" he thought to himself. He grabbed Emily,and pulled her off the bed. This movement woke her,and she started fighting with him trying to get free. He hit her across the face,and this woke up Dick. Dick tried to aid his sister but, he was thrown through the portal as well. The mystery man grabbed Emily by her throat as she tried to charge at him. "Who are you" she asked but soon passed out. He slung the girl over his shoulder,and walked through the portal with one thing on his mind. "The boss is going to be happy when he sees this" he thought.
