When the sword festival occurred, rias became the new Shepard. After becoming the new Shepard, rias got a strange letter from a man named Euclid lucifuge. Curious as to who this man was, rias, Lailah, Gasper, Ophis and Laphicet went to the noble district to see with hopes to find Sophie as well.
"Rias, may say something?" Lailah asked
"What's wrong?" Rias asked
"Nothing but, as we journey through the land, you will need to make pacts with other seraphim." Lailah explained
"More seraphim... like ophis?" Rias wondered
"I am not sure about a seraph like her. Void seraphs have been known to betray those they have formed a pact with." Lailah answered with uneasiness
"You mean to tell me that Ophis might betray me?" Rias wondered
"It's only a possibility, that's what i've heard about Void seraphs." Lailah answered
"If you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." Rias quoted
"What's that?" Lailah wondered
"Howe's egg principle." Rias explained briefly
"I see." Lailah said with understanding
"but i doubt i'll need it to solve this problem, ophis and i have been together for years." Rias mentioned
"I see, so you trust her?" Lailah wondered
"More or less to be honest." Rias answered
"I-i see." Lailah said with uneasiness
Soon enough, they arrived at Euclid lucifuge's house, and standing outside was Euclid himself.

"Welcome, Shepard, i thank you for coming." Euclid greeted politely
"You are welcome." Rias assured
"I also thank you for saving my life during the sword festival. I am in debt." He thanked
"You're welcome. I couldn't just sit by and let you get hurt, so i did what any other human would do." Rias assured
"Come, let us sit down on my porch and have some tea." He offered
"I kindly accept your offer." Rias acknowledged
Euclid, Rias and gasper sit down at a small table on the porch.
"I am still surprised that you were able to pull out the sacred blade." Euclid admitted
"That reminds me. Lailah, were there any female shepards before me?" Rias remembered and asked
"Indeed there was. One was named Rose. She became the shepard after Sorey merged with maotelus to purify the world." Lailah answered
