That night, they came.
After just two days of the talk with Fawad, Kareena's victims were finally revealed.

That night, I got an information that there was some suspicious movement at the stables. And I left all I was doing and went there myself to inspect.
From the darkness of the night, I saw them follow some servant into the darkness.
I followed them till they got to an empty barn that was in the middle of nowhere.

I stood out and waited.
Almost ten minutes later, I heard their screams. I was immediately compelled to move but I held myself back.
About a minute or two later, three men rushed out and a lady followed suit. I looked long and hard to make out a face but it was impossible, the place was just too dark.

Then, they shut the door and barred it with some sort of wood. It was when the lady lighted a match stick did I make out the face.

Muizzat.

Immediately, she lighted a small torch and threw it into the barn. In a few seconds, the whole place went up in flames. It was so hot, I could feel the heat from where I was hiding.

I feel sick to my stomach.
Prince Asad should have killed her instead of sending her out of the palace. I should have done it myself if he didn't have the guts to, being that they were once very close.

I rolled my hands in fist as I watched her give something to the men before they dispersed. She took one last look at the burning barn before she walked away.
As I watched the burning flames, I regretted staying hidden. I should have done something, brought another person. Anything. I should have done anything to stop their deaths.

At that moment, I felt as if I was partially responsible for it, for their demise.

I watched and waited till I was sure no one was within a mile of me.
Then I left my hiding place and walked towards the barn, the burning barn. I began to feel the wet and dampness in the air.
Then I smelt it, rain.

Immediately, it began to drizzle.
They were smart. They probably looked up the weather forecast before setting the barn on fire, so it extinguishes just in time before anyone noticed.

When I got to the barn, the drizzle increased.
I stood two feet away and watched the barn being slowly extinguished.
And I thought.
This was their time, their time of demise. No one could have stopped it, as long as it was the will of Allah.
Alhamdulilah.

I turned away and slowly walked away while being considerably drenched in the rain. It was so nice to finally feel the rain on my skin, a rain that hardly fell in this part of the world.

Why?
Why did they kill them?
Was Muizzat working alone. That wasn't possible. A servant couldn't have pulled off such a perfect murder. Someone had to be behind her.
Who?
Who gained the most from the death of Sahiba's friends?
No one.

Then, who would be blamed for it?
And it hit me.
It was Kareena.
Kareena would gain from all this because Sahib would be blamed. This was what she wanted. She probably noticed their closeness and wanted to do something to bring back the hate.
That was it.
No wonder she was so quiet. Fawad was right after all.

Now, the question remained, do I let them know?
Lady Aliyyah, Sahib, Sahiba.

I stopped in my tracks.
If I told them, everything will be ruined. If Sahiba doesn't hate Sahib, then she wouldn't kill him and the ball would then fall on my court to.
No.
This was good for me.
All I'd had to do was to stay quiet, as quiet as a mouse.

And I did stay as quiet as that mouse. Until the evening Lady Aliyyah asked me to make sure Sahiba was properly dressed.
I had already made a plan and had decided to tell her that day. The only problem was, when?
