I took the first stairs, then the second and the third and higher and higher I went until I stopped at the door of the huge hall, one bigger than the one I had been when Lady Aliyyah had hosted her welcome party. The place was beautiful decorated as golden decorations filled the whole hall. The whole place looked beautiful, so beautiful I wondered how possible it was to have done all of this in such a short time.

I paused at the door and looked up at the huge door.
"Are you having second thoughts?" Yara whispered from behind to shield her words from the ears of the guards that held the door.

"Why would I?"

"You met Prince Asad."

"I'm not even thinking about him."

"What then?"

"It doesn't feel real Yara. I mean," I said turning to her. "Look at me. Do I look anyway like a Queen?"

"You've always looked like royalty to me," she said without hesitating.

"I'm being serious Yara. I don't deserve this, I couldn't even lead my siblings properly talk less of leading a whole country."

She placed her hands on my shoulders. "You'll do amazing. And besides, the Sultan will be with you every step of the way. All you have to do is open that door and everything will fall into place."

I smiled at her and turned back to the door and commanded the guards to let me in. As the door opened to let me in, I thought of how very unreal this was all turning out to be. Never in my whole life would I have imagined that I'd be marrying Sahib. Never had I thought that I'd marry the person I'd always wanted to kill, that I'd move from a slave to a Queen, a real Queen. One without a competition like in the movies.

I heard someone announce my appearance.
"Shall we stand as Lady Sahiba comes in."

I was being announced.
Me.

The automatic door slid to the sides and a light shone on me as I stood and looked into the crowd feeling nervous. The aisle cleared up as Sahib walked towards me with his beautiful black tuxedos, hair packed to a bun, beards neatly shaved and a smile across his face as he stared still moving towards me.

He took my hands in his when he was close enough and after staring for a while more, whispered.
"You look amazing."

I smiled as heat immediately rushed to my cheeks.
"You look amazing yourself," I said not able to hold back the words.

He smiled at me and locking my hands in his, we walked hand in hand towards the chair prepared specially for us.
I looked around me obvious of the thousands of eyes that pierced into my skin, some of daggers, some of flowers.
Among the daggers were the ones coming from the concubines.

I knew that should have made me feel more confident, more composed. If not for anything, at least to spite them but their stares weakened my legs even further.
"Sahiba," he whispered my name softly. "It's alright. I'm right beside you. Just forget about them and concentrate on me." He continued turning to me and smiling.
How did he always know what was in my mind, I thought to myself.

I sighed and raised my head high. I blocked the stares from my mind and turned my gaze to Sahib, soaking in every bit of him, wondering how such a perfect man fell in love with me and choose me to be his wife.

We got to the beautifully decorated chair and took our seats. That was when I cast my eyes down at the smaller humans underneath and wondered why I hadn't coveted that seat earlier. I looked all around me wishing to see her gaze up at me but she wasn't there. I had made sure I sent invites to all of them, all of the concubines but Jadwa was no where to be found.
I smiled.
Of course she wouldn't be here. She couldn't have recovered from the blow.
