Jasper's been on the phone for the past forty five minutes. Any time he feels like he's gotten somewhere, he's transferred. He's been trying to find a doctor for me to go to so the pregnancy can be confirmed. Confidentiality is our highest priority and there are apparently certain doctors that are under contract to not release any information about celebrities. All doctors are under contract, but some LA physicians are crooked and will do anything for money.
"Thank you so much." I heard him sigh in relief from the kitchen table. I had been in the living room trying to distract myself with Evelyn so my anxiety wouldn't spike up again.
"Good news?" I asked, feeling hopeful.
"Yeah, we can go in at four today." He smiled softly, pushing himself up from his chair and sitting next to me on the sofa. "I'm excited."
"Me too. Even if I'm not prrgnant, we're not going to be disappointed." I warned, looking st him pointedly. I knew Jasper was over the moon about having another baby and I was too, but I was still cautious. Two spontaneous pregnancies in a row was rare, some people try for months just to get pregnant once.
"Course not." He grinned cheekily, pulling Evelyn into his lap. "Want to watch a movie?"
I nodded, reaching over and grabbing the remote before snuggling into his side where he wrapped an arm around me. Evelyn was lounging on his lap, sucking her thumb slowly and watching the screen with tired eyes. I knew Evelyn and I would probably fall asleep ten minutes into the movie.
"Moana?" Jasper asked with a laugh, already clicking on the movie. Evelyn was starting to show preferences in what she liked to eat, wear, and watch. It was fun watching her develop a personality as she grew up. I had turned Moana on when we were flying back to LA and she loved it, probably from the fun songs and bright colors. I like the movie also, so I didn't mind playing it for her, neither did J.
I focused more on Evelyn's face as she watched. Her eyes would light up every once in a while and she would grin around her thumb. She stayed awake a lot longer than I thought she would, but just as Moana set out to sea, her eyes began drooping. Her head would fall and as her chin hit her chest, then she would jerk up and start watching the movie again. With a laugh, I slowly pulled Evelyn down a little so she was laying more on Jasper than sitting, this way she could fall asleep without falling over.
"Are you gonna nap too?" Jasper asked, amused.
"Yes." I mumbled, already laying out on the couch with my head on his thigh, Evelyn right next to me on his other side.
______
Jasper shook me lightly and I jerked before realizing it was just him. I looked up to see him holding a freshly dressed Evelyn and he had also changed his clothes.
"We need to leave soon, do you wanna go freshen up?" He offered, already holding a hand out to help me up. I took it gratefully and stood, rolling my shoulders once before walking towards our bedroom. I heard Evelyn's little shoes hitting the ground as she ran after me. I turned to scoop her up and grinned when she wrapped her little arms around my neck.
I set her on the ground next to me as I looked into the closet. She immediately started pulling shoes off the rack so I moved her out of the closet and occupied her with some toys that she had dragged into our room.
I ended up choosing leggings and a light sweater. It wasn't too cool out but it definitely wasn't warm, so hopefully I wouldn't get too hot in this outfit. I changed quickly before pulling a brush through my hair and braiding it down my back, as I hated having my hair in my face constantly.
Evelyn followed me into the bathroom as I went to brush my teeth and clean my face. It was late in the day, but I hadn't been productive since I woke up in the morning, so I had to catch up now.
