Philip Hamilton, the dashing young 17 year old, stood still as he watched his younger siblings run around the back yard. The young man had grown up to be very handsome, well mannered, humorous, and did I mention Handsome? Philip had started growing scruff that he had to shave every morning, and had become very muscular, but not to muscular to scare away any young ladies. Yes, that's right. He was the age where courtships could occur.

If you would have asked him a year ago, he would have told you Theodosia Burr was in his sights, but now, that would be a lie. You see, Theodosia Burr had stopped writing too him last year. Yes they wrote flirtatious promises and fantasies to each other (some Philip would never announce around his family, especially the younger ones), but that would end abruptly due to Theodosia's stopped letters.

Yes, it got him down at first, but that was when he was 16 and not knowing of all the fine younger women out there. Now, he had just turn 17, and was ready to find a woman who he wouldn't cheat on like his father did his mother. The young Hamilton hadn't fully forgave his father quite yet, but who would, really? His mother has barely even spoken to him since the pamphlet was released. Now a days however, many people have forgotten, but not the Hamilton Family.

Especially not Philip or his mother.

He infact had told his mother about his infatuation with the young Burr, but she quickly told him he was a pawn in her game and it was too late. She was already off to "woman school". Philip at first was angry, angry at himself, his family, his name... but then grew angry with Aaron Burr. How Dare he take away the only thing that made Philip happy.

He never even got a proper goodbye.

Well that wasn't true, he did get a goodbye... but not a kiss.

Philip snapped out of his day dream when young Angelica Hamilton stepped next to him and spoke.

"Are the kids doing alright dear brother?" She asked.

Philip nodded, some what startled by his sisters appearance. He glanced over at her and saw her hair was in a pink ribbon that matched her satin gown.

"Mother and Father would like to talk to you about personal matters." She spoke again, looking over at him but only turning her head.

Philip's eyebrow raised "Oh? Well I'll see to it. Watch the children."

Angelica nodded as he turned and made his way up the hill. There, outside on the bench, sat his parents. Eliza a few feet away from Alexander. When Philip approached their frowns turned in half smiles.

"Hello Philip, have a seat." His mother said gently, patting at the spot between her and her husband. Philip nodded, sitting down where he was instructed.

"As you know, you are 17 and ready to be courted. As well as, you are almost done with your schooling-" Eliza started

"-which we are very proud of." Alexander chimed in smiling, but was shot a dirty look my Eliza so he quickly shut his mouth and just nodded.

"So, as a reward if your coming of age, we will be throwing another ball. One for you and your cousins and siblings. This will be big however, and held at your aunt Peggy's house. Will you want to attend?"

Philip smiled but something in him felt... wrong.

Yet, he nodded.

"I'd love that, thank you mama."
