Aaron and Alexander sat quietly and awkwardly in the living room. Theodosia held the flowers as she looked at her father then Philip's. She cleared her throat and stood up.
"I will go get some tea." She tugged on Philip's arm and nodded towards the kitchen. The boy shot up and nodded.
"M-me too!"
The two 14 year olds ran off into the kitchen as Alex and Burr still sat.
"So.... your daughter and my son?"
"Your son and MY daughter." Burr corrected.
Alexander huffed. "Just keep her away from him."
"Gladly Theodosia is the only thing I have left." Aaron glared at Hamilton.
Hamilton rolled his eyes and looked away, crossing his arms.
Philip watched the two adults bicker and sighed. He closed the kitchen door and looked at Theodosia who was brewing tea. He walked up beside her. "Theo..."
"Shh. I... I know Philip." She quietly stirred it and looked down.
Philip tried to study her facial expression and sighed again. "No you don't Theo!" He snapped. She perked up and looked at him. His face was red as he backed up. "They are going to stop our friendship! They can't do that! We can't let them do that!"
Theodosia grabbed his hands in hers. "Philip Hamilton knock it off!"
He froze and looked down. He gently pulled his hands away. "Sorry."
Theo smiled and looked at him. "It will be ok Philip, ok?" Philip nodded and Theodosia cupped his cheek. His cheeks flushed as their eyes met. Theo leaned in and stood on her tippy toes to reach him.
Philip's heart pounded as he leaned I too, but before they could meet, Philip heard Alexander scream.
"PHILIP IT IS TIME TO GO!"
Philip and Theo pulled away, both blushing. Theodosia looked hurt and turned away. "You should go."Philip went to say something but before he knew it, he was in the carriage on his way home.
He messed up. He missed his chance.
