// There lived a legend of where a prince of a light will save the town's heart stabbed by a curse of eternal darkness by defeating the witch of dark who started it all. The legend never said how the prince will defeat the witch, however.//
(y'all know i had to write a oneshot on that
bop!)if he did this, he would be known as the king's hand. the thought had filled his brain and gave him a purpose to do this. though, he was quite hesitant to face the witch that cursed the town, anything for his king.
his family could live easier if he could slay the monster of a human. all the treasures and praise he would receive for a simple yet daunting task. it fueled him, oh, it really did. to his veins.
there, brendon (the prince), stood in front of the entrance of the witch's place. the witch lived on the side of the highest point of a mountain. apparently, a group of travelers were hiking the mountain and stumbled upon the cavern entrance and only one got away to tell the town the secret of the place.
he made it to the end of the tunnel was greeted to a glowing light with a witch's tools around it. cauldrons, potions, bubbling liquids, and all sorts of other items. the sounds of bubbling and a low sound emitting from the giant light bubble.
a carven area with human sized holes leading to more rooms. brendon was intrigued by what the other rooms could hold but he had to focus at the task at hand.
the bubble of glowing light descended from it's height and dimmed itself as seconds passed. brendon held onto to the hilt of his sword, preparing for what creature may come out.
as the bubble became more transparent and brendon could see a figure. a figure that was curled up as if it was in a sleep or healing after critical damage and around it, floated bushels of what seemed to be thorny flowers, piercing his skin. soon enough, the bubble was almost clear enough to see.
"oh, my lord...," brendon gasped, looking at who inhabited the bubble.
a man with ravaged folds of brown hair, eyes closed and prickled from the thorns, tattered rags, and thin lips shut tight. brendon didn't know he was facing off a warlock.
a warlock had cursed the town. was the legend incorrect this whole time?
the bushels of flowers floated away from the man, just as he opened his eyes. blue shining orbs stared down the prince down while being out his father's sword. something inside brendon was sparking; he was so unsure of what it was.
the warlock slowly drifted down, red blood dripping down from his cheeks because of the thorny flowers. he fell to his knees and his eyes looked away from the prince who held his life.
"is this prince of light that will perish the little life i have left?" the other asked with a hurting voice, strained from the cuts on his throat.
"i-it is he," brendon was tense, gripping hard to the handle of the sword, pointing it at the man on the ground.
"you don't sound too confident, prince. are you certain that you will end my life? against the man who cursed your whole town?" the warlock threatened in a lower, more gravely voice and accomplices with a small chuckle.
"i...i-i—" brendon started.
"silence, young prince," he spoke, lifting his own head up and stared right into brendon's dark eyes that held something more unthreatening and gentle, "i can feel the aura radiating off of you. you couldn't hurt a fly if commanded. a prince of mercy is the true title that you hold."
brendon was in awe and felt exposed in front of the one he was supposed to kill. he dropped his sword that ended with a clatter that filled the room.
