The first day of the tour started with an amazing day of being congratulated and gifted various things. I think for some reason people were particularly interested in how I felt about Mom having a baby. But I was over the moon and I think that was evident by the expressions on all of our faces. My dress was mostly white with a small navy blue panel at the top of the dress around my shoulders. It was very similar to Mom's which was just plain white. We began the day visiting the Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife Lady Cosgrove, who gifted Mom and Dad with three kangaroo toys, one each for the girls and one for the baby, as well as a pair of ugg boots for the baby. We went to the zoo and then on a boat to watch the rehearsals of a dance group near Sydney Opera House.
When we got back to Admiralty House that evening, the three of us were exhausted already so after FaceTiming the twins, we had dinner and went straight to dinner.
On Wednesday, Mom and Dad were flying to Dubbo for the day while I was going down to Melbourne until tomorrow evening. When I was three, my Dad and I lived in Australia because he was working out here at the time. We had the most amazing time, from what I was old enough to remember. I was going to the pre-school that I used to go to as well as going to visit a local school who were supporting children suffering from childhood trauma or bereavement. I woke up early on Wednesday morning and when I got out the shower was greeted by Ruby in my room with some breakfast. I packed my outfit for tomorrow into a suitcase as well as all of the things I would need for tonight. I got dressed into a jumper dress which was navy blue and grey with a rainbow across it on the chest. I put on a pair of shorts underneath and then some white trainer socks and my white converses. I finished packing my suitcase and gave it to Ruby before going along to Mom and Dad's room to say goodbye to them as I wouldn't see them until tomorrow morning. Mom was just getting out of the shower when I went in.
"Hey Dais." Harry said as he gave me a hug. "You leaving now?" I nodded as he hugged me. "I'm really proud of you, you know. I don't think you could be doing a better job." he said.
"It's only been a day." I said as I looked at him.
"I know, but you are doing such an amazing job already, and so is Mom, you know that don't you." He said to me as he pulled me close to him again. As he did, the bathroom door opened and Mom came out with a dressing gown on.
"Hey Daisy, what are you doing in here so early?" She said as she came over and stood next to me, putting her arm around me and pulling me away from Harry and into her.
"We're leaving in like ten minutes, for Melbourne, remember?" I said.
"Oh yeah, I do now, come here," she said as she pulled me into her. I hugged her, resting my head on her chest as she rested her head on mine.
"You didn't, did you?" I said.
"No Daisy, I'm sorry I didn't, you remember what my baby brain is like don't you?" she said before kissing my head.
"I remember." I said, before letting go of her. "Right I need to go." I said as I turned to Harry and gave him a hug as well.
"Ok, we'll see you tomorrow. Be good, make me proud. I love you." Mom said before I hugged her again.
"I love you too, see you tomorrow." I said. I let go and then walked towards the door.
"Bye Mom, Bye Dad, love you." I said and then open the door and left the room. I walked down the hall to my room and grabbed my backpack before heading down to the lobby to find Ruby. After the hour and a half flight to Melbourne, I was greeted upon landing and driven to the small village on the seafront where Dad and I lived when I was three. The pre-school was gorgeous and there were some parts of it that I remembered but others were a blur. On the way to the school, we drove past the house where Dad and I lived. The school was amazing as well. The children were so polite and kind and it was an absolute joy to meet them all.
That night, I stayed in the Hotel Windsor in the centre of Melbourne. I called Mom and Dad and told them all about my day before having some dinner and then going to bed.
