On Christmas Eve Eve, Mom, Dad, Poppy, Holly and I all drove up to Sandringham for Christmas. This year we were staying in the house instead of at Will and Kate's. We arrived at the house and were welcomed inside as our stuff was taken upstairs. Mom and Dad went through to the living room while I took Poppy and Holly down to the room which we called the play room downstairs. Savannah, Isla and Mia were all down there so as soon as the girls were settled and happy to be there, I went back up to find Mom and Dad.
Mom was sat on the sofa in the drawing room having tea with Autumn, Zara and Sophie. I went and sat down next to her and she put her arm around my shoulder so my head rested on her shoulder.
"The girls alright?" she asked and I nodded.
"Yeah they're playing Moms and Dads downstairs." I said and she giggled before chatting to Zara, Autumn and Sophie for a while. We stayed there for a while before I heard someone calling my name behind me. I turned around to see Dad stood with Grandad.
"Dais, come here." he said. I excused myself and got up from the sofa before going to join Dad and Grandad at the door of the room.
"Hello my gorgeous, how are you?" Grandad said.
"I'm good thanks Grandad, how are you?" I replied.
"Great, now I need to steal you for a bit if that's ok, we're going to go and find my Mother and Father." he said. I nodded as we started leaving the room and then walked down the corridor while Dad went back in the drawing room. We walked along a few corridors before reaching the door to the Mama's private drawing room. Grandad knocked on the door and I pulled my pinafore dress down as he did. There was a voice that came from inside but I couldn't make out what it said. Grandad opened the door and walked through and I followed, shutting the door behind me. Mama and Phillip were sat on the sofa with a table full of papers in front of them on the coffee table.
Grandad and I sat down on the chairs opposite before any of them said anything.
"Daisy, Phillip, Charles and I wanted to speak to you, because the three of us all read the letter that you wrote on your blog last week regarding the hatred shown towards your mother, and the apparent rift there is between her and Kate." Mama began. 'Oh crap' I said to myself in my head. I was gonna be in so much trouble and even though Dad said that I could do it, it didn't actually go through Samantha. "Now don't worry, you're not in trouble." I breathed a sigh of relief, almost a bit too loud, "We wanted to tell you how proud we are of you for standing up for her and how in the future, if anything like this happens again, because I am sure that it will, that we want you to be able to stand up for your mother and your sisters."
"And your Dad." Grandad added. Mama and Phillip both nodded.
"And it is of my understanding that the reason that you started the blog that you write to your father is to help people who are struggling with bereavement." Mama continued.
"Yes, I wrote to show people that by me writing a letter to my Dad, it helped me get out the emotions that I had about his death and I wanted to start my blog to encourage people to do the same, so they don't get bogged down by bereavement and depression." I told them.
"That is great, I wondered whether or not you would be interested in setting up a charity to help bereaved children and set up centres which would help children to come to terms with their losses." Mama continued and I smiled.
"That would be amazing, I would love to." I said. She told me about some ideas that she had had for a while longer with Phillip and Grandad. After a while, she decided that she was going to greet everyone in the drawing room, so the four of us walked back. As we did, Grandad walked with Mama and I walked with Phillip.
