It had been a few days since I was in Windsor to help out Mom with Holly. I was meant to be going up this weekend, but as I'd already been, Mom and Dad thought it best to bring the twins to London for the weekend and stay with me, while the two of them had the weekend in Windsor by themselves. I think after the statement on Thursday, they both needed some time together without the girls there.
They both dropped the twins off at Kensington Palace on Saturday Morning. The girls knocked excitedly on the front door and I went to open it, both of them leaping into my arms as soon as I did. The four of them then came inside, where I made them all a drink. Mom and Dad sat down on the sofa in the living room, while the girls went downstairs to the room which they were staying in to take their bags. I took two mugs of tea to Mom and Dad in the living room before sitting down in between them.
"It looks so much better now it's done." Mom said after taking a sip of her tea and then putting her arm around me.
"I know, there's literally no part of it which I don't like." I said. The room then fell silent as we listened to the shouts and giggles of the girls downstairs.
"I saw your statement Dad." I said, breaking the silence the filled the room.
"How was it? Up to your writing standards?" He joked.
"Yeah, it was." I said. "Ruby said you were told about the stuff with Samantha." I continued in reference to the letters that were written by Mom's half sister and posted online, as well as the fact that she was currently in the country in an attempt to speak to Mom. I had been told by Ruby that she had several attempts to get into Kensington Palace but had only ever got to the front gates.
"Yeah, did you see her?" Mom asked. I shook my head.
"Yeah she was there the other day. My meeting at the centre, on Friday, had to be delayed because they didn't want me going out the gate while she was there. It's just annoying."
"I know." Mom said as the girls appeared in the doorway. They came over to the sofa and climbed on either side of me. The five of us cuddled and chatted for a while before Mom and Dad decided to leave us and head back to Windsor. We said goodbye before letting them go out of the front door and then watching out the window as they drove away.
"Right, I thought we could go and get some lunch and then go for a walk around Hyde Park on your scooters." They both smiled at the idea, because in the year that they lived in London, they never actually went to Hyde Park.
"Ok then, shall we get pizza for lunch?" They both nodded as they smiled again. "Ok, come on then." I said before starting to get them ready. I got their shoes on and put mine on as well. I then grabbed our coats and my bag before taking them downstairs. Mom and Dad had left their scooters in the lobby by my front door which I then took outside and put in the boot before getting them in and driving them to get pizza.
"Daisy, I think Mommy is better now she's in Windsor." Poppy said as we sat in the restaurant after ordering our food.
"Do you think?" I questioned.
"Yeah, she is always smiling now and I don't think she's as sad as she was in London." Poppy continued.
"Why was she sad in London?" Holly asked.
"I don't think it was because of London and I don't think she was really sad, but when we first moved here there was a lot of pressure on Mommy to do the right thing and then she was busy when she was planning the wedding and then she was busy after the wedding as well and then she found out she was having the baby and when you are first pregnant with a baby, it makes you really tired and that was hard for Mommy." I told them.
