I explained to the detective Brielle everything I remembered happening. She told me to go slowly so I could try to piece together every part of the night, but I felt as if I needed to get it all out, all out into the open all out my head just so I could try and make sense of it all. Even then there were parts of my memory missing. I couldn't remember leaving Mike's apartment or how I got the apartment of the man who attacked me. The same man, who I do remember giving me my drink, which he must have taken from the kitchen, to me in the living room and given to me, with something in it that made me not remember. I had a blood test done and an alcohol test and an STI test. The blood test would take a few days but the alcohol and STI tests both came back clear.

I was examined and a specialist had to perform a full body examination of me, which wasn't nice, before I was returned to a much comfier interview room with Brielle.

"Is there anyone we could call for you Mrs Beaumont-Windsor?" she asked, "We have put your phone on charge for you, but in the meantime?"

"No, no, there's no one here that I would want to be with me, I'll be alright." I said, before the questioning continued. It was questioning but it didn't feel like it. Brielle would ask a very open question and I would answer with the truth of what I could remember, not that I always could and if I couldn't I wouldn't lie, I would just say that I couldn't remember.

Some of these questions to me seemed irrelevant like "When were you returning to the UK?" but I answered them because I understood that they needed to know everything in order to get a picture of the case.

"Now, I have no further questions for the time being but I can understand that you would want to return home? To be with your husband? And your family?" she asked. I nodded. I wanted to be at home before all of this happened but I wanted to be at home even more right now. I want to be in my own bed, with my own duvet and my own blankets so I could fall asleep, because right now, that is all I wanted to do.

"Well you stay right there and I shall go and check on a few things ok?" she said. I nodded. "And I'll get you a jumper, you look cold." I smiled at her before she left the room and I was left alone. I smelt of a horrible disinfectant soap and all I wanted to do was change into my comfiest leggings and a hoodie and get on a plane and go home. I sat on an armchair and pulled my legs up to my chest and hugged them into me. I felt so vulnerable and so attacked and after so long of wanting to get out of the palace walls, right now I want nothing more than to be trapped inside them, so no one can get in.

Brielle returned a few minutes later. She shut the door behind her and then handed me my phone before sitting down back on the sofa opposite me.

"I have spoken to my boss and she thinks that the best thing for you right now is for you to go home and be with your family and then in a few days we will arrange to call you to give you an update on the case and you can tell us anything that you might have remembered. But I'll give you my number in the meantime so if you remember anything I between you can call me to tell me. We had sent police officers out to find Mr Cooper and once you have been dropped back at your hotel then we will bring him in for questioning." she said.

"Thank you" I said to her as the two of us stood up.

"Now we'll have a car take you back to your hotel but do you have any other questions?" I shook my head before shaking her hand and thanking her again. She then led me out of the room and along some corridors out the back and introduced me to two uniformed officers. I then got into the car and was driven back to the hotel. I got out of the car and thanked the officers before going upstairs to my room and showered before getting changed out of the clothes that were given to me at the police station. I then sat on the edge of the bed and turned my phone on. loads of messages and notifications and a couple of missed calls came through but I ignored them all and decided that the quickest way to get home was for me to call Grandad.
