New York

Percy's p.o.v.

I sighed as we got onto the subway, the doors closing with a familiar ding.

Thalia sat next to me and drummed her fingers on her knee caps. She seemed to be going through something, but I didn't want to disturb her thoughts.

I looked around, seeing the car was pretty bare. We had a hobo sleeping on some newspapers, a young couple talking in hushed tones, and an old woman petting a cat.

I ran my hands through my hair, but winced. I pulled it back and saw some blood on it.

My damn sweat was making me bleed, which hurt, alot. I wiped my hand on my shirt, realizing how dirty I was. I needed a shower badly. My stomach growled, reminding me I needed food and water.

I groaned, realizing once again that I had to drink, and clean myself with what was killing me.

Thalia looked over concerned. " Percy? What's wrong now? "

I said, " I have to take a shower, eat food, and drink water. It's not been a good day. I mean, I've had worse, but this is up there. "

Thalia waited patiently for me to continue, something I wasn't used to.

" My uh, friend, took me to find some type of treasure today. It was apparently a pirate's treasure, but it was buried in such a stupid location. I mean, who buries treasure in the middle of nowhere?! That's like- "

Thalia interrupted me, saying, " Percy, finish your story. "

I nodded and said, " We found it, but there wasn't any treasure inside. It was a small box full of sand. Not really worth going for. Then we got ambushed, and it was bad Thalia. It was like a baby reenactment of Leo's fight with Enceladus. Except he actually outsmarted me. Well, not exactly, but he used my own ' tactics ' against me; and it worked. Every monster is apparently after me, including all of my father's soldiers. It looks like he didn't take my words to him lightly. I just...I don't know anymore Thals. I just want to go home. "

I scoffed, realizing I had no home to go to.

Thalia seemed to tell I wasn't really in the mood to talk, so she just held my arm and rested her head on my shoulder.

The train ride was quiet the rest of the way, leaving some kind of tension resting in the air. I couldn't tell what it was, but it felt familiar. I'd always feel this way with Annabeth when we argued.

I shook it off as the door opened with that soft ding.

Thalia let go of my arm and got up.

" Come on Seaweed Brain, let's get going. "

I sighed as I got up, wincing from the wound on my side.

I limped over to her, feeling like I had a ton of bricks on my shoulders.

" Well, what are we waiting for Thals? Let's go back to camp. "

Thalia narrowed her eyes, and said, " Jackson, if you leave me alone here, I'm going to kick your - "

I sighed and said, " Alright, alright! I get it! No leaving you alone. It's not like I could anyways, I have a limp. "

Thalia snorted and said, " You're crippled seaweed. "

I shook my head, saying, " That's a new one. Let's just go. "

Thalia nodded, walking with me down towards Central Park.

I gazed up at the Empire State Building, wondering if Zeus blabbed his mouth.

Lightning struck me and Thalia as I thought that, proving once again that literally everything in the world hates my guts.
