Jana : A Prince's Tale

Knowing Magnus

Magnus Mantini was a very harsh man inside out. But so was Jana. However, they were opposite in many ways.

Magnus was packing a bag. He was off to another pack land on the other side. Jana had simply said a yes in acknowledgement when the man said he won't be home for the next couple of days. Samuel was going with him. Clement will be home to not leave Jana and Arth and unprotected.

Arth was looking curiously at Magnus. "Goin?" asked Arth.
Magnus hesitated not sure how to deal with that question.

"He will be back tomorrow," said Jana.

Arth went silent.

Arth was looking sadly at Magnus as he went down. He has rarely interacted with Magnus other than stare at him. But Jana knew he identified Magnus with safety.

Jana could already feel the strain when the man was gone for a couple of hours. He hoped Magnus will be safe and won't be tired. Arth wouldn't sleep.

"Afa Mag," mumbled Arth.

"He will be back tomorrow," said Jana.

Magnus meanwhile felt things were not right the moment he stepped foot in the cursed land of Rimitara.

Jana was asleep , hugging Arth closer to him on Magnus's side of the bed knowing they both needed that secure feeling. It was at 3 in the morning that Jana felt uneasy and he sat up.

He decided to get up and Arth woke up too. They both went down. Clement came out of his room.
"Is everything okay?" asked Clement feeling uneasy himself.

"Samuel went with him all the way right?" asked Jana.

"Yes, " said Clement.

"Here, take care of Arth. I need to reach Alpha Magnus. He needs me," said Jana, as if in a trance as his mind was only focused on the destination.

Jana turned into the wolf form and jumped. Clement had no clue how Jana would be able to help the man halfway across the Kingdom.

Clement held Arth close to him.

"S Afa Mag ma Dada?" asked Arth.

Clement looked at the kid.

"Who told you that?" asked Clement.

"Isco," said Arth. Isco was the son of Magnus's betas.

"You ask him when he gets back," said Clement.

Arth nodded burying his head on Clement's shoulder.

Magnus looked at the crowd. The pack members were as creepy as the land. Magnus was hesitant. He could feel Samuel's hesitance too.
Samuel reached out and held Magnus closer. The paternal instinct to protect Magnus was high because something was not right.

The Alpha of the pack Gremlin walked out to greet them with his entourage.

" I am sorry I was not here when you arrived. I was having a last minute engagement. Welcome to Rimitara," said Gremlin, showing his yellow teeth and deceptive smile.

The wolf extended his hand and Samuel grabbed it before Magnus. Samuel stared in shock as an apparition happened and a glowy figure of his mate Bela stood above them. She was smiling coyly at Samuel.

"Did you miss me mate?" she asked a smirk on her face as it was when she was alive.

Samuel's face lost the colour and he was taken aback. He was not scared, just too petrified to say anything.

Magnus meanwhile realised witchcraft was at play.

"Are you sad Samuel, having lost your mate. Are you even the slightest bit resentful and jealous of your brother and his mate for having found each other? Ow, so cute. I can see you are happy for your brother. You think his mate is just what he needed and everything would be fine. But babe, that is just a dream because you and your brother are going to end here today. Are you happy to join me?" asked Bela and then she cackled.

When Magnus' attention was on Samuel and he was trying to help him when a silver net was thrown over him. He felt so stupid to have come here without the pack. He should have known something fishy will happen. Magnus knew he was on the floor and that the net had razor-sharp blades which were cutting him and bleeding him. He thought maybe this would be his end and he was thoroughly surprised when two faces showed up in his mind. Jana and Arth. Jana, he did not know. But he knew Arth will be sad. The boy has been all pouty when Magnus left. Magnus never even spoke to the kid properly. He wishes that he had. After all the kid rounded him and Jana like a satellite. Magnus remembers his brothers and then he thinks of Jana, his mate. He wishes he had kissed  those lips once. 

Magnus felt darkness surround him and then he was being shaken. He opened his eyes to see Jana looking at him. He felt a weight being lifted from him. 

"You were under a spell, showing you your regrets," said Jana as he bent down and touched on the biggest wound on Jana's body. Magnus looks at Jana as he sits up. He saw that Kanwar was helping Samuel up.

Magnus looked at Jana who was panting. He must have run here from Hellebore and that warmed something in Magnus. He looked at Jana whose eyes were going all over Magnus as his main wound healed with his mate's touch.

Magnus got Jana's arm and a surprised Jana fell onto him.

"Hey, you alright?" he asked, balancing his hand on Magnus' side a little.

Magnus lifts up his head and kissed Jana. Jana flushed red, but in his shock opened his mouth to let the man's tongue.

"Seriously, we are at war here," Magnus heard what was undoubtedly Alpha Anthony's voice. He let go of Jana whose eyes were lowered and cheeks were red.

Jana had alerted his brothers on his way to the cursed land and he exhausted all the energy he possesses as the prince. He looked at Magnus who was on feet and slain every single wolf of Rimitara who were unfortunate enough to cross his path.

Jeev and Vir were also there. They left Carles in charge of the palace.

Magnus looked at his wounds, all of which healed quicker than usual when Jana touched him and that could only mean one thing. If Jana had the power to heal him, it means, Jana had always been loyal to him and always will be. That he had always respected him and always will. However, there was a difference. He will definitely respect his mate but Magnus has to be worthy of it too.

Magnus looked at Jana.

They had something to talk about.

Jana did not leave Magnus's side on their way back. The brothers have gone, Kanwar having dragged the whole pack for punishment, atleast to punish those few who are still alive.

Samuel seems shaken but was silent. Jana saw Magnus was having trouble walking because of a arrow wound in his leg which was slowly healing. As they walked in the darkness in their  human form towards the palace from deeper portion of the woods to the pack house, Magnus felt a hand reach out and hold his. Magnus looked at him but Jana was looking at the ground as they walked.
