After a week, the two one-time lovers agreed to forget that that one night would stay one night. Of course they agreed to that without speaking to each other. Because they haven't spoken to each other since the morning after.
Every Sunday through Thursday they would always have to work together. It was extremely difficult to do so since they were doing as much as possible to not speak to each other.
It just started to become a smooth groove until September twenty-fourth.
That was the day were there boss had the brilliant idea to make the two of them close up shop together.
"WAIT, WHAT?" Zane shouted to their boss, Naat. "Naat please, don't. I-I just can't work with her alone. I just can't," Zane pleaded. It didn't seem that where they were was the best time and spot to get out of closing, considering that their boss was using a urinal. "Listen, Zane. I know you don't like working with K.C., which I don't know why... Look you give a damn good reason for you to get out of the shift that you have been avoiding for weeks, and I'll CONSIDER letting you off the hook,"
"Er-" what was Zane supposed to say? That he had an awkward hookup with her a week ago and was too embarrassed to confront her?
"What? did she kill your dog?" Naat said zipping up his pants. Zane just stared at him flushing red. "Don't tell me... You hooked up with her promising that you would call her back but never did,"
Zane just stared in shock as Naat walked over to the sink. "Um- well," Zane went on.
"Hold the phone, I was KIDDING. No-no way that a guy like you seduce a girl like that." Zane tried not to be offended. But he went on.
Well, Zane lost the argument and had to do closing anyway.
An hour later Naat left leaving just Nana and Zane alone.
"So- was it bad or something?" Nana asked.
"W-Wha- wh- wha-????" Zane stuttered. "No- no- no no n-n-no. IT WAS it was. Ama- goo- why do you ask?" Zane laughed very nervously.
"Well, I- Kawa- mean. She heard you in the bathroom with Naat. And- I mean it was awkward. But you're completely avoiding- me. You don't even so much as look at me during the classes we have together." Nana said.
We have classes together? Zane thought to himself. Shit what classes? I have a total of five classes, business management, physical education, English speaking, ancient history origins, and breed languages.
Zane just kept nodding his head. Taking quick breaths, trying to not freak out.
"You didn't realize that we have two classes together," she sighed, "we have business management and English speaking together," Nana replied.
"Well, the reason I guess we haven't talked to each other is because on my end. A strange girl came into my dorm room and kissed me, then I, stupidly let you stay. Then we hooked up. Three times in those few hours you were in my room. After that you woke up and tried to make awkward small talk about a relationship you had in high school. Did I make myself clear?" Zane finished.
Nana was flustered. She didn't know what to say. "Well, good night," she sighed. She turned around and left the café, without finishing cleaning...
She couldn't look at him.
But why? Why did she care about why Zane thought about her?
She kept walking and got to her dorm.
Trying her hardest to clear her mind.
