Wrecker’s giant golden robot stomped closer and closer. It was big, strong, powerful, and really shiny! Wrecker definitely wasn’t playing around anymore. He meant business. Misty and I got up and put on our game faces. We were ready for action.
    “Ready Brent?” Misty said.
    “Oh yeah!” I said. “It’s time to…make a plan!”
“Alright let’s…wait, what?” Misty said confused. “A plan?” Misty stared at me with a surprised look. I then began to think.
“Okay,” I said. “The robot’s made of gold so my reality powers can’t effect it. I’ll have to try another tactic…like super strength!” Then, using my super speed, I ran over to the robot’s giant foot. I put my hands under it and with all my might I lifted it up and tossed it into the air. The robot flailed around as it flew upwards. “Ha ha! That’ll fix him!” As I was walking back feeling quite proud of myself, the robot came down and crushed me under its foot. Wrecker laughed at my pain.
“Looks like I finally crushed you like the little insect you are Cosmos!” he gloated.
“Brent!” Misty said worried. Just then, the ground began to rumble a bit. Suddenly I sprung out of the ground right beside Misty. I used the drill attachment on my robot arm to burrow under the ground so that I wouldn’t get crushed. “Brent, you’re okay!”
“Yeah,” I said. “But I’m gonna need another plan!” Misty gave me another confused look. “Well if my super strength didn’t work, let’s try…weapons!” I reached into pockets of my utility belt with both hands and pulled out two huge rocket launchers. I pointed them at the robot and fired. Dozens of missiles shot out and hit the robot causing lots of explosions and smoke to appear. I then pulled out a portable pulse cannon and fired a gigantic blue ray of energy at the smoke which created a pulsing explosion. “Did I get him?” Misty and I watched as we waited to see the results of my efforts. When the smoke cleared, we saw the robot standing there unfazed and without a scratch. Why? Because it had a freaking force field!
    “Nope,” Misty replied apathetically.
“Crap!” I said. “Alright then, how about shape shifting!?” With a radiant glow and some flashy special effects, I transformed myself into a giant Godzilla-like monster. I let out a giant roar as I marched over to the golden goliath. I was much bigger than it was, so I thought that beating it would be fairly easy. I took a deep breath and blew a huge stream of fire down onto the robot. When I was finished, the robot was still unharmed. “It’s fireproof too!? Of course it is!” Before I could finish ranting, the golden goliath pulled out a huge golden sword from it’s back. The sword glowed with energy. The robot then jumped up and sliced a huge X into my huge monster chest. I roared in pain as I fell over backwards onto the ground with a giant thud. I then transformed back into my normal form. I was clutching my chest but the mark the sword made was gone, as was the pain. Wrecker laughed again.
“Maybe you were right about me being a child Cosmos!” Wrecker shouted. “Because I sure am having fun playing with this toy!” I groaned as I tried to get up off the ground. Misty ran over to me.
“Brent, are you okay?” She asked concerned.
“Yeah, yeah,” I said weakly as I stood up. I began to think again. “Okay, super powers not working. But that’s fine! Sometimes you’ve just gotta attack head on!” My body was then surrounded by a powerful green aura. I then took off and flew towards the robot with blistering speed.
“Brent, wait!” Misty shouted. But it was too late. As I got close, the golden goliath shot gold lasers out of it’s eyes. I zipped around and dodged the blasts. Once I got to the robot’s head, I transformed my robot arm into a giant robotic mallet. My monster arm turned grey and its hand took the shape of a big hammer. I then started slamming and whacking the robot’s head and body as hard as I could, but no matter how hard I hit it, I couldn’t seem to even make a dent. “What’s this thing made of!?”
“Gold-plated infinitrite!” Wrecker replied. “The strongest metal on Fury! Something not even you can destroy!”
“Weeeeeell, crap!” I said. The golden goliath’s hand then grabbed me in midair. It began to squeeze and squeeze and I couldn’t break free. The infinitrite was too strong! The robot then threw me down onto the ground with incredible force. A giant laser canon then came out of its arm, pointed at me, and blasted me with a huge red laser.
              BLZZZZZZZZRRRRRT!
I yelled in pain as the laser’s energy ran painfully through my body. Wrecker seemed very pleased.
“Well Cosmos,” he said. “I was planning on destroying you with all of Fury watching. But now I think it would be nice if we just kept this very special moment to ourselves. So for the last time: goodbye and good riddance Brent Cosmos!” Wrecker then began to move his robot in so he could take me out once and for all.
“Speed Boost!” Wrecker heard a female voice say. Then, faster than he could blink, he saw Misty run by, pick me up, and run away behind him.
V“You little tramp!” Wrecker shouted. “I was going to spare you if you reconsidered marrying me, but if you wish to foolishly side with that whelp, then you can perish with him too!” Wrecker than ran after Misty with his robot. Misty ran at super speed through the Dark Lands, carrying me in her arms.
“Brent,” she said. “Brent, say something!”
    “Antidisestablishmentarianism!” I replied abruptly.
    “What?” Misty said.
“I don’t know,” I said. “I’ve just always thought that word was cool.”
“You’re okay!” Misty exclaimed with a sigh of relief.
“Yeah,” I said. “But don’t worry Misty! I’ve got another plan!” As soon as I said that, Misty stopped running. Wrecker and his robot were right on our tails. “Misty! What’re you-?!”
“That’s it!” Misty said as she set me down. She reached into one of the pockets of my utility belt and pulled out a strange looking television remote. She then pressed the ‘pause’ button. Wrecker’s golden goliath stopped moving. Everything was still. Time had been stopped.
“You…you paused time,” I said with amazement. “That’s…that’s…”
“Like something you would’ve done?” Misty said.
    “Well…yeah,” I replied.
“So why didn’t you?” Misty asked.
“I just didn’t think of it!”
    “Why?”
“I was trying to make a plan!” I said angrily.
“Since when did you need a plan to fight?” Misty asked skeptically.
“Hey!” I said. “Making a plan worked for the wedding didn’t it?”
“Yes,” Misty said. “But then you had a lot to worry about. Me, Ruby, Adojo, the Dark Legion, and all of the innocent people. Right now, you only have one goal to accomplish: kick Wrecker’s ass! Which you’ve done many times before. So what are you waiting for? Get mad, go crazy, improvise, do your thing!” I hung my head a little.
“Well, the thing is,” I said. “I kinda like making a plan.”
    “What?” Misty replied.
“I know I don’t do it a lot.” I continued, “But when I tried it out this time, it worked really well. Maybe if I work on my anger, stop acting like a lunatic, and start fighting evil the smart way like my dad did, people will finally trust me and accept me as a hero instead of treating me like an outcast.” Misty was silent. “The Doc says that I should learn to make my anger work for me, but I’ve been thinking, almost every time I get angry and use my evil powers something bad happens to me or someone else. And I’m always afraid that I’m going to lose control and do something horrible! Then nobody will accept me.” Misty and I remained quiet for a moment.
“Brent,” Misty said. “You need to calm down.”
“That’s what I’ve been trying to do!” I said.
“No,” Misty said. “I mean you need to stop worrying so much about people accepting you.”
    “Huh?” I said.
“Look Brent, I know that all you want is to be a hero, uphold your family’s legacy, and make your parents proud. And I know that sometimes your evil powers can make that hard. But even though making a plan is the way to go sometimes, other times your crazy way of doing things works out just fine.”
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“I mean you always do the right thing, even if it means doing some wrong things along the way,” Misty replied. “Just think about all the times your evil powers have helped you be a hero. Remember the first time your Destructoid powers manifested themselves? You used them to defeat Wrecker and save Amazonia. That’s how you got your mark of power in the first place.”
“Oh yeah,” I said. It was true. If my evil powers hadn’t come out when they did, I might not have been able to beat Wrecker.
“You decided then that just because you had evil powers, didn’t mean you were evil.” I remained silent. “You’ve been a superhero for six years since that day, and in that time you’ve saved me, lots of innocent people, villages, cities, countries, and the entire planet dozens of times. And you did it all by being your regular old crazy, angry, half-evil self.” Misty tickled my chest as she spoke, making me laugh. “If some people still can’t accept you after that, then they’re not worth worrying about because they’re obviously just too small-minded and ignorant to see how amazing you are!” I smiled.
“And another thing,” Misty continued. “Instead of always thinking about the people who don’t accept and believe in you, why not think about all the people who do? There’s me, my mother, all the Amazons, Dr. Zooks, Fightbot, Ruby, the Mystic Brothers, Fang, and even Adojo. We all believe in you. And I’m willing to bet that if your mother and father were still here, they’d believe in you too.” My smile got bigger. “And if other people want to doubt you, just let them! It’ll only make them feel that much more stupid when you save the day in the end. So stop worrying about other people’s approval so much. The only person who can prove that you’re a hero is you! Nobody else.” Misty’s words filled me overwhelming confidence. I felt like a new hero! I couldn’t remember the last time I felt so sure of myself. I felt like I could do anything! Well actually I can do anything but…oh you know what I mean!
“You know what Misty?” I said.
“What?” Misty replied. I then gave her a great big hug. “Sometimes, you’re my hero!” Misty smiled, pleasantly surprised at my unexpected embrace.
“Awww,” she said affectionately. She then pursed her lips and tried to kiss me. I backed away quickly.
“Whoa!” I said. “Hugs are one thing, but let’s take it one step at a time!” Misty giggled.
“Tell you what,” she said with a seductive smile. “Take charge and beat Wrecker, and I might be able to restrain myself. Deal?” I rushed past her with super speed, grabbed the remote out of her hand, and pointed it at the golden goliath.
“Deal!” I said as I pressed the ‘fast forward’ button. The golden goliath then began to move again, at super high speed. It was headed right towards me and Misty, but I warped us out of the way and we reappeared behind it. I then created a magical tripwire in front of the robot’s foot, making it fall over with a crash. I then pressed ‘play’, ran over to the robot, grabbed its foot, and spun it around and around and around until a let go and sent it flying. It came down with another crash. The robot got up and began to run back to us.
    “Why you-!” Wrecker yelled.
“I hate this channel!” I said. “What else is on?” I pressed the channel changing button. Suddenly, a football came out of nowhere and landed in the golden goliath’s hand. A whistle sounded and two football teams started climbing and tackling the robot, trying to get the ball. The golden goliath fell over backwards in a massive dog pile. “Ugh! I hate sports!” I pressed the channel button again. The golden goliath was suddenly on a gigantic operating table. There were medical machines and doctor’s tools everywhere. A handsome doctor and a beautiful nurse stood beside the table. Dramatic organ music played in the background.
“I’m sorry nurse,” the doctor said. “I cannot operate on this robot!”
“But why doctor!?” the nurse asked.
“Because,” the doctor replied. “He’s my second cousin…twice removed!” A dramatic organ sting played.
“HA! Called it!” I said. I pressed the channel button again. The golden goliath was now sitting on a couch. Across from it was a female talk show host. The roar of an audience was heard.
“Hello and welcome to, Diana!” said Diana, the show’s host. “Today’s topic is Trying to destroy my enemies and take over the world to make up for my own insecurities! Today’s special guest is Wrecker and the golden goliath robot.” The audience cheered.    “Now Wrecker, we all know that you want to destroy Brent Cosmos. But when you try to destroy him, aren’t you really just destroying yourself?”
“What!?” Wrecker said angrily. The audience cheered.
“Think about it,” Diana said. “If Cosmos was gone, you’d have no one to battle, no one to match wits with, no one to challenge you! Your life would become even more pathetic and meaningless than it already is!”
    “Ooooooooo!” the audience said.
“She makes some good points,” said Misty.
“I like Dr. Jake better,” I said. “He’s more insightful!”
“Enough!” Wrecker yelled. The golden goliath then pointed it finger at me and shot out a golden ray that blasted the remote out of my hands, destroying it. The couch and Diana disappeared.
“Fine!” I said. “There was nothing good on anyway!” The golden goliath charged towards us. I picked Misty up and flew her up high. Wrecker activated his robot’s rocket feet and blasted off after us. We flew higher and higher and the robot got closer and closer. “Sorry, but I don’t think you have a license to pilot a giant golden robot. I’m afraid you’re grounded.” I morphed by robot arm into a strange black laser canon.   “Gravity Beam!” I shot a black ray of energy out of my arm canon. It hit the robot surrounding it in an aura wave of black energy. Its rocket feet started to malfunction and gave out. The robot then started to fall back down to the ground at high speed.
“What did you do?” Misty asked.
“I increased the robot’s gravity making it too heavy to fly,” I said. The robot then slammed onto the ground on its stomach and struggled to get up. “Or stand for that matter.”
“Nice,” Misty said. “But it still doesn’t have a scratch on it.”
“It’s made out of infinitrite,” I said.    “Nothing can destroy infinitrite. Not even magic effects it. The only thing strong enough to penetrate infinitrite is infinitrite!” Misty thought for moment.
“Hey Brent,” she said. “What’s the Sword of Masters made of?”
“Magic infused golden infinitrite,” I replied. “Why?” Then, it hit me. “OH! Well this works out pretty well for us doesn’t it?” Misty giggled. The robot was still surrounded by the gravity energy and couldn’t stand up. As we floated down, I snapped my robotic fingers and made the gravity energy disappear. As the robot stood up, we landed right in front of it. “Alright Wrecker, prepare to get…sidekicked!”
“Please never say that again,” Misty said.
“Oh just go!” I said. Misty than began to run towards the golden goliath. The robot tried to bring down its fist to smash her, but she was too quick and dodged. She then jumped on the arm and with on swift motion, she sliced it off!
“What!?” Wrecker said. Before he could even react, Misty sliced off the other arm. “NO!” Then Misty jumped up high in the air, did a stylish 720 tornado spin, and with one final slash she cut off the robot’s head. The robot fizzled and sparked as it fell over with a thud.
“Alright!” I said. “Sidekick for the win! Woohoo!” I started doing a victory dance. Misty smiled. But our good moods were short-lived because just then, Wrecker blasted out of the chest of the golden goliath. He was completely engulfed in a dark aura of evil energy. He snarled as he edged closer to us. Misty stuck out her sword, but Wrecker didn’t back off. He raised his hand and dark chains came out of the ground and wrapped around Misty, making her drop her sword and fall over. “Misty!” I shouted. I ran over to help, but before I could get to her Wrecker shot a purple ray from his hand and blasted me back. I got off the ground and stood up, slightly trembling as I faced my arch enemy.
“Let’s finish this, Cosmos!” Wrecker said intensely. I looked over at Misty, wrapped up in chains and thought to myself. I then stopped trembling. I snarled revealing all of my razor sharp teeth. My eyes turned red with anger. My tentacles shot out of my back and wiggled in the air freely. My body was engulfed in a fiery green aura.
“With pleasure,” I said with an evil smile. Wrecker and I then blasted off into the sky. We charged at each other at Mach speed and collided in a huge pulsing explosion. We hit, punched, kicked, and dodged as hard and fast as we could. Then Wrecker got a solid hit on me, sending me flying down to the ground with a crash. As I got up, Wrecker conjured a giant black dragon out of purple fire and came flying down on it. The dragon then breathed out a stream of purple fire on me. Quickly, I reached into my utility belt and pulled out a giant shield and sword. As I used the shield to block the fire, I transformed into the giant evil knight (like I did back on Amazonia). Once the dragon stopped spitting fire, I took the opening and jumped up. With a mighty slash I sliced through the chest of black dragon, making it completely disappear.
Wrecker dropped to the ground. I had him in my sights. I shot red lasers out of my eyes. Before they could hit Wrecker, he pulled out his dark sword and blocked the lasers. He then jumped right towards me and hit me with a huge flurry of sword slashes. I turned back to normal as I flew backwards. As I regained my composure, I flew upwards.
“Rapid Fire!” I exclaimed. I then flew a barrage of multicolored energy orbs down at Wrecker. Wrecker hit every orb away, using his sword like a bat. “Crystal Knuckle!” Then, like a bomb I dropped down to the ground and stomped my crystal leg. A trail of pointy crystal fragments started shooting out of the ground towards Wrecker. When it got to him, a huge crystal fist came up and knocked him back, hard. Wrecker then began to fly right towards me like a missile.   “Crystal Tower! I exclaimed as I stomped my crystal leg on the ground again. This time, a humungous crystal pillar came out of the ground. Using my super strength, I picked it up at and smacked Wrecker away like a baseball. I then transformed the pillar into a humungous stick of dynamite. I threw it at Wrecker, causing a huge explosion. I flew up to get out of the way.
As I floated in the sky, I looked down at the smoke. I couldn’t tell if Wrecker was down or not. Just then, out of the smoke Wrecker came flying toward me carrying a giant mace that he had conjured. Before I could react, He hit me with the spiked ball, sending me crashing down to the ground. He then created a huge ball of red energy between his hands that became as big as a…really, really big round ball, I guess. He then threw it down. It landed on me with yet another pulsing explosion. As Wrecker floated down, he saw me, battered and bruised, laying on my stomach.
“Look at yourself,” he said as he stood over me menacingly. “You try to be a hero, but in the end you’re no better than your villainous mother. You fight other beings for being evil, but she was the worst of all. She was a villain, until she fell in love with your father that is. Then she became a nothing. Just like you!” Wrecker began to laugh, but just then, one of my Destructoid tentacle shot out of my back and wrapped around his neck throttling him. Wrecker had done a lot of things today that made me mad. He had his flunkies attack Amazonia, he had Misty kidnapped and tried to force her to marry him, and he tried to humiliate and destroy me in front of all of Fury. But just then, he crossed the line. He pressed the mom button.
Like I said before, I’ve never actually met my mother. I know she was evil, I know she was a villain, I know she tried to take over the world, but she changed. She gave up her life of evil to be with my father. She had good in her. That was good enough for my dad and it’s good enough for me! And I wasn’t going to let anyone insult her! Wrecker choked as my tentacle strangled him. I then stood up.
“You know,” I said as my eyes turned red. “It’s not nice to say bad things about people’s mothers!” I then morphed my liquid metal leg into a hammer and kicked Wrecker right where the sun don’t shine. His eyes bulged in pain as he screamed. I then tossed him behind me. I then pulled out two electro arc guns from my belt and turned my top two tentacles into big purple, sparking plugs. I then let out a huge burst of electricity from them that blasted Wrecker. Wrecker then tried to blast me with a red laser blast form his hand. I transformed into a monster made entirely of crystal. The laser hit me, but had no effect. I then shot two crystal balls out of my hands that hit Wrecker, exploding on impact. I then ran over to Wrecker, picked him up, and threw him high into the air.
As he came falling down, I changed back to normal and created a giant fish tank full of piranhas as sharks. Wrecker fell in with a splash. The carnivorous fish attacked him viscously. I then pulled out a huge fishing rod and pulled Wrecker out. My line flung him away far. My hands glowed red as I raised them up high. The ground began to rumble and a miniature volcano rose up out of it. It erupted and a huge flaming rock came shooting out and hit the still airborne Wrecker, slamming him to the ground. As Wrecker lifted the rock off of himself, the lava continued to quickly flow out of the volcano. As it reached the ground, the lava began to transform into bulky, fire breathing lava monsters! They all instantly began fighting Wrecker. I laughed evilly as I hit the fish tank with a blast from my animal mutation remote, turning the sharks and piranhas into ferocious, air breathing, brawny fish warriors who could walk on land.
With a snap of my finger, my fish warriors all got magical battle tritons.
They charged in to join the battle. The fish warriors and the lava monsters hit Wrecker with everything they had. Wrecker tried to destroy them with his power, but the lava monsters were regenerative and the fish warriors’ battle tritons absorbed magic and energy and gave them the power of self healing. My evil smile grew bigger as Wrecker reached the end of his rope.
“Cosmos! Call off your beasts!” Wrecker shouted.
“Not until you take back what you said about my mother!” I shouted down to him.
    “WHAT!?” Wrecker replied.
“You heard me!” I said. “Apologize, or be DESTROYED! The choice is yours!” Wrecker fought and fought as hard as he could, but in the end he knew he had no choice.
    “I-I’m sorry,” he said softly.
    “What was that?” I said.
“I’M SORRY!!!” He yelled angrily. I smiled. I then clapped my hands together. A beautiful, sparkling white pulse of energy came out of me. As it spread, everything I created disappeared. Wrecker was completely out of breath. I floated down to him.
“Now that wasn’t so hard was it?” I said smugly. Wrecker growled and blasted me. He trapped me in a purple bubble of magic that constantly shocked and weakened me the longer I was inside it. I tried to break free but my energy and strength were a little drained from all that stuff I just did. Like I said, reality bending is my most powerful ability, but it takes a lot out of me when I overdo it.
“You foolish boy!” he yelled. “Do you think this is a game!? Do you think I won’t destroy you simply because you spared my life?” I laughed maniacally from inside my magical bubble prison.
“I wasn’t really trying to kill you,” I said. “I was just getting you back for what you said about my mother. Really I was just trying to weaken you.”
“Weaken me?!” Wrecker said angrily. “Fool! I’ve got power to match yours and then some! No matter how powerful you are or how weakened I am, you will never be able to defeat me!”
“Alone, probably not,” I said. “But then again, that’s what sidekicks are for!”
    “What?” Wrecker said confused.
“Dragon Blast!” a female voice from behind Wrecker exclaimed. It was Misty. While I was fighting Wrecker, she was able to break free from her chains. As she yelled, a giant red Chinese dragon made completely out of magic energy came shooting out of her sword. Wrecker turned around and before he could even blink, the dragon hit. There was a giant, blinding flash explosion that seemed to cover the entire Dark Lands. When it was over, Wrecker was still standing. His entire body was burned and bruised and he had a blank expression on his face. He then fell over right on his face.
Dragon Blast is the strongest attack Misty can preform with the Sword of Masters. It has the potential to actually kill someone, but Misty held back enough to only knock Wrecker out. I broke out of my bubble and Misty and I walked over to Wrecker’s unconscious body. We then looked at each other and smiled. The fight was over.
