After Misty and I worked everything out, Misty packed her bags and got ready to leave. Soon she was in the throne room with her mother.
“Well, I guess this is it,” Misty said to the queen.
“I’m sad to see you go,” Alicia said. “But I’m so proud to see my little princess grow up.” A little tear ran down the queen’s face.
“Oh c’mon mother,” Misty said. “ No need to be so sad. It’s not like you’ll never see me again. I’ll visit often and I’ll call whenever I can.”
“Yes I know,” said the queen. “It’s clear that you’re just not meant to be the queen of Amazonia. You’re destined for something much greater, and I know you’ll find that destiny if you stay with Brent. Just promise me you’ll stay safe.”
“Don’t worry,” Misty replied. “I’m always safe when I’m with Brent.”
“Of course,” Alicia said with a little laugh. She and Misty then gave each other a big hug. Just then, a guard walked into the room.
“Your highnesses,” she said. “I feel that you should know, the kitchen has been…completely raided.”
“Yeah that’s about what I expected,” said Misty. “Luckily I ordered the hunters and scavengers to gather extra food supplies before I called Brent over.” Just then, there was a humungous burp that seemed to shake the walls of the castle. Soon I walked into the throne room while picking my teeth with my monster claw.
“Man that was good!” I said. “Fighting always makes me hungry!” I had used up a lot of energy in my fight with Misty, but no matter how weak or tired I feel, eating some food always picks me right up. “So Misty, you ready to go?”
“Ready,” Misty said as she gestured to her suitcase. I then took out a strange looking gun from my belt and fired it right at her bag. It let out a glowing green beam that engulfed the suitcase and in a flash, it disappeared.
“There,” I said. “Your stuff has been instantly transported to Cosmos Castle.”
“Great. Thanks,” Misty said with a smile.
“Now Brent,” said Alicia. “You’re going to take good care of my daughter right?”
“Why would I do that?” I said. Misty and her mother began to look confused. “Misty is a strong and capable Amazon warrior. She doesn’t need me or any other man to take care of her.” Misty smiled. She new I meant what I was saying, even though there was a slight hint of sarcasm in my voice.
“That’s exactly right Brent,” Misty said proudly. “But I don’t mind being taken care of as long as it’s by you.” I began to blush a little. Misty giggled.
“Alright,” I said still blushing. “Let’s get going. It’s almost time for my stories.”
“Right,” said Misty. She turned to her mother. “Goodbye mother.”
“Farewell my princess,” said the queen. They then hugged again. I smiled. Seeing that gave me a warm feeling inside.
“Alright Brent, let’s go,” Misty said after she finished her heartfelt embrace.
“Cool! We’re outta he-,” I stopped. I just stood there, staring blankly. I looked around. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but something didn’t feel…right.
    “What’s wrong?” Misty asked.
“I sense…evil!” I said. You see, every Cosmos is born with the natural ability to sense evil and danger. I was especially good at it because my Destructoid biology also greatly increased my sense of sight, hearing, smell, and awareness. Just then, there was a huge explosion outside. Misty, the queen, and I all flinched with surprise. A warrior Amazon then ran into the throne room.
“Your highness!” she yelled. “We’re under attack!” Misty and I looked at each other intensely. Then, without saying a word, we ran outside to see what the problem was. As we got outside, we saw big clouds of smoke, most likely from the cause of the explosion we heard. Some Amazon warriors were running directly into the smoke trying to fight off whoever was attacking them, but as soon as they charged in, they were hit or blasted back. They were getting badly hurt and I wasn’t going to stand for it.
“Alright!” I shouted. “Whoever’s doing this, come out right now and fight like a man!” All was silent on the other side of the smoke. I heard nothing. But I could still sense the evil presence. And there wasn’t just one of them, there were six. Six evil presences? I thought. That can only mean one thing, it’s them! Soon, sinister looking shadows began to emerge from the smoke and as they walked forward they began to reveal themselves. In no time at all, I was face-to-face with my worst enemies: the Dark Legion.
The Dark Legion is a team of some of the most powerful (and crazy) villains in all of Fury. When I was first starting out as a hero, I had defeated each of its members individually at some point. It was really humiliating for all of them to have their evil plans foiled by a little kid and you can bet they didn’t exactly like me much afterwards. Soon, they all banded together and started working as a team. They used their evil powers to try to terrorize the innocent and take over the world. Of course, I was there to stop them every time. Two things tie the Dark Legion: their dreams of ruling the world, and their hatred of me.
There was Ballista the witch. She was a beautiful, yet wicked sorceress with green hair and a black dress. She can do all kinds of powerful magic spells and is the main magician of the Dark Legion. She is very cunning and devious, usually coming up with the team’s more sinister plans.
Then there was Primech. He was once a world renowned scientist who came up with brilliant inventions. He was doing pretty well, until he started selling his inventions to super villains. He served some time in jail and it really took its toll on him to the point where he began to go mad. He went so mad in fact, that he actually came to the conclusion that he should surgically remove his brain, put it into the body of a cyborg gorilla, and become a super villain to take revenge on the world that mocked his genius. Why I cyborg gorilla you ask? Well…some things are just best not to think about.
Then there was Slither. He was a gigantic cobra monster with arms and legs. He can spit out poisonous venom and sleep gas, has a toxic bite, can breathe fire, and has hypnotic eyes. He just as sneaky and underhanded as you’d expect any snake to be. This made him a perfect villain.
There was also Wrath and Carnage. They were mutant siblings. Carnage (the muscular red mutant) was the brawn. He was big, bulky, strong, and had some powers up his sleeves. His weak spot is that he’s not very bright…at all. His brother, Wrath (the scrawny blue mutant), was the brains. He was more limber, clever, and has all kinds of gadgets at his disposal. Despite their differences, these two brothers get along pretty well.
Last, but not least, there was Chimera. Chimera was an extremely rare, savage, and powerful monster. It has two heads, one of a lion and one of a bull. Its body is that of a lion’s and its tail is a snake. It also has big, black eagle wings on its back. Incidentally, Chimera is the only member of the Dark Legion who can’t speak. That’s fine however. After all, it has claws and teeth to do the talking for it.
The Dark Legion is by far the one of the more evil elements Fury has to offer and whenever they make trouble, it’s usually up to me to deal with them.
“Oh great!” I said. “I should’ve known it was you losers. What do you want?”
    “Calm down Cosmos,” said Primech.
“Yes, no need to get violent…yet,” Ballista added. “We’re just here to deliver a message.”
“A message?” I said. “What message?” Ballista then made a slight gesture with her hand. A pillar of flames then rose up from the ground and when they died down and dissipated, something was left in it’s place: a very sinister looking mirror. It had a skull on the top of it and it levitated in midair. Then, an image began to appear in the place where the reflection should’ve been. When I saw what the image was, made face turned into a sinister scowl. It was none other than the leader of the Dark Legion. The only being on Fury (evil or otherwise) whose power rivaled my own. My arch nemesis: Wrecker.
