Ella's POV:

"No I seriously wanted to make brownies and look what you did." I laugh pointing to the flour on my face.

"You look a little pale." Ashton bite his lip to keep from laughing.

"Oh really?" I tilt my head.

"Yeah it's just really pale." He giggled.

"Hmm so do you." I smirk and before he could put together what was about to happen I flicked flour at his face.

"Ella Kate!" He coughed. "You'll pay for that."

"Will I?"

"Yes." He smiled and cracked an egg on my head.

"That was so mean." I pout.

"That's what you get."

"I can't believe you did that. There's like shell in my hair."

"You can get it out." He waves it off.

"Shut up." I shake my head. I was deciding if I should get him back or not but that was also another mess I would have to pick up. I grabbed an egg, ready to throw at him when my mom and stepdad walked into the room.

"What's going on?" My stepdad gasped. I immediately dropped the egg letting it crack on the floor. Ashton turned to me and back to my stepdad.

"Uh it was my fault." He points to his chest.

"Ash honey." My mom sighed.

"Uh dad this is Ashton Irwin."

"I see." He nodded.

"It's nice to meet you." Ashton gave him a weak smile.

"I'll clean it up don't worry." I tell my parents before they start yelling at me.

"Y-y-yeah I'll help." Ashton stuttered looking back at me nodding.

"Ella can I talk to you in the dining room?" My mom asked.

"Sure." I said slowly and followed her into the dining room again.

"You need to clean that up."

"I will." I groan.

"How irresponsible of you." She sighs.

"But mom we were just-"

"No I don't want these childish games going on." She rubbed her temples.

"I haven't seen my best friend in 3 years and you're telling me I can't have fun with him." I scoff.

"Ella-"

"No I just think that's dumb. Everything is fine now, I can do what I want." I laughed. "It wasn't even my problem in the first place."

"Ella!"

"I'm sorry, it barely involved me." I said annoyed.

"It did very much involve you." My mom scolded.

"Sure it did." I roll my eyes.

"I- I just can't-" My mom sighed.

"I get it, I'll clean it up just relax, don't freak out its fine." I sighed and walked back into the kitchen to find Ashton standing in the middle of it.

"Hi." He mumbled. I could clearly tell he heard what me and my mom were talking about. We were literally in the next room.

"Ash-"

"It's fine I don't need an explanation." He shook his head. "We should just clean up."

"Right." I breathe and start cleaning up the flour and the eggs.
