Ashton's POV:
I was reading my summer book that I was half way through already. My mom just got home from walking Indie.
"Ash guess who I saw on the way home." My mom walks in the kitchen were I was with a huge smile on her face.
"Who did you see mom?" I said uninterested.
"Ms. Brown, you know Ella Kate's mom." She smiled. I sat up a little. It hurts to hear her name when I haven't seen her in so long.
"Ella Kate is here?" My eyes were wide. Of course I wasn't seeing things I knew she was back.
"Yeah, I didn't see her though, she was up in her room." My mom shrugged.
"Oh, where do they live?"
"Same house." She shrugged again.
"Huh." I said mainly to myself.
"We are having dinner with them in a few days."
"How could she not tell me she was back." I whispered.
"Ashton are you listening to me?"
"Uh? What yes." I nodded.
"Good now finish the book." She walks off.
I can't believe she came back and didn't tell me. It's been 3 years. She has not said one word to me for 3 years. Then she comes back home and acts like I don't even exist. Did I even matter to her in the first place? She left me, heartbroken. I didn't want to speak to her nor see her ever again. Right when I moved on she comes back. Of course. I literally had countless nights where I couldn't sleep because I was thinking about her. Her. Ella freaking Kate Brown. I don't know where she went or why she left but she was my best friend. She would of told me why she left or even that she was leaving. She didn't even tell me she was leaving. One day she was here and the next she was gone. My plan is to ignore her the way she ignored me. That's a good plan.

I was having dinner with my mom, Lauren and Harry when I decided to ask my mom more about Ella.
"So mom, why did they leave?" I asked after taking a sip of my drink.
"Who?"
"The Browns" I rolled my eyes.
"Oh she had a job offering or something." My mom shrugged.
"They left without saying goodbye because of a job offering." I slap my hands on the table and stand up causing Lauren to flinch because of my studden movements.
"Ashton sit down, calm down." My mom scolded me.
"Sorry." I mumbled before sitting down again. "I-I just can't get why they didn't tell me or us?" I shook my head.
"They probably have a perfectly good reason why, ash. Why don't you ask Ella at dinner."
"No I'm going to the stupid dinner mom." I snap. "If she's gonna ignore me then I'll ignore her." I said getting up and headed to my room and slammed the door.

The next morning I woke up when my mom walked into my room.
"Take Indie for a walk." She says as Indie comes in my room jumping up on my bed.
"Okay." I sat up and got out of bed and put a shirt on. I grabbed Indie and the leash and walked out the door.
Ella's POV:
"Bye Townes I'm going for a quick run." I waved to Townes while he sat on the couch watching tv.
"See ya later."
