Four Months Later

Dee heard the buzzing of her phone

Jordan

Sighing she let it go to voicemail just as she had all the other times he'd called over all these months

Staying with her aunt had given her a roof over her head but didn't make the ache in her heart any less painful.

Deanna had fallen in love with Jordan in the short time they'd spent together .He had become her constant someone who'd always been there no matter what and she'd fucked that up beyond repair.

The phone rang again several times with his name flashing across the screen and each time Deanna ignored it

A knock on the front door startled her bringing her out of her thoughts

"Dee I know you're in there I know you've been avoiding my calls but it's taken me all this time and I found you please talk to me "

He was here ?

He'd found her ?

How ?

"Go away Jordan go back to Boston "

"Talk to me it's me Dee just me "

Deanna felt her resolve breaking she missed him so much but she knew she was no good for him

Jordan was so much better than she was

Deanna heard the knocking grow louder

"I know you're in there please come out and talk to me "

Jordan's voice sounded broken

Was he crying ?

I stood up and walked to the door unsure of what to expect

Opening the door I found Jordan standing there a pleading look in his eyes as a tear streamed down his cheek

"Dee " he whispered as he pulled me into his arms

Instinctively I leaned into his embrace "J"

"You can't ever leave me again do you hear me ?I was so worried "Jordan rambled as I cried

"I didn't think it would matter if I left "

"My world stopped the day you left Dee .I flew here that night and have been searching ever since "

I broke down completely no one had ever cared enough about me to stop what they were doing just to look for me

Jordan held me as I sobbed "I -I'm sorry my own mother didn't care so I figured no one else did "

"Dee I love you I have from the moment I laid eyes on you ."

I didn't know what to say I love him too but saying the words can make you vulnerable and I hated being vulnerable

He had to be why else would he be here with me now why else would he have flown here looking for me ?

,."When I found out Jayden took you to the bus station and that you'd left my world crashed I knew something was wrong but I didn't know what .I stopped by your place and your mother chased me off said she was glad to be rid of you .I could smell the whiskey all around me and I knew why you'd left .Come back with me where you belong where you're loved and cared for "

"Jordan I'm scared .Where am I gonna go ?"

"I just got an apartment my dad secured it for me it'll be waiting when we get back "

I was shocked he really wanted me

Someone truly cared about me

"I love you "I whispered

Jordan let out a breath "I love you Deanna let me take care of you "

Jordan pulled me closer "Let's go home baby "

I nodded as he led me to the front door

Jordan's father had chartered a plane so the trip to the airport was short

"I've never flown before "

Jordan squeezed my hand "I'm right here baby "

We spent the flight talking about my mother and Jayden.

I learned that Jayden had wanted me for himself which I suspected but I also knew that I only had eyes for one Knight and he was seated next to me.

The plane landed a few hours later at Logan .I hadn't realized we were close until I felt the wheels touch down and was jolted back to reality.

Here we were back in Boston the only difference was this time I didn't feel alone
