(Ian's POV)
"Well, you're daughter has a broken arm, a couple broken ribs, and some internal bleeding, but we fixed her up and she's stable, she's in recovery, and you could see her if you like," the doctor told us.
"Yes! Please!" I said and we walked through the hall, me and Nina hand in hand.
When we got there my heart fell through my chest, she looked so pale, she was barely alive.
"Oh Sidney!" I said now I was crying.
"I'm so sorry! I should've been more careful! This is all my fault!" I told her crying, of course she wasn't awake yet.
"Ian! Stop! This is not your fault! This could of happened to anybody! You did nothing wrong! It was the idiot who drove through the red lights fault!" Nina told me tearing up.
"I should've been there more before, I should have tried harder, I should've been more of a mother," she said.
"Oh Neens," I said and put one arm around her, "I'm not gonna sugar coat it and say you did as good as you could've, because honestly you didn't. You weren't there when she first got her period, I tried calling you because I honestly had no clue. She looked to me to help her, I didn't even really know what to get her, I had to call my mom for help with that situation, my mom. And when she wanted to wear make up? Or mini skirts? Or wanted her hair braided? I didn't know how, Neens, I didn't always do the best job playing mom, but I did a pretty damn well job playing the parent," I told her. I felt pretty satisfied getting that off my chest. She need to know how I felt.
"I know, Ian, I was dumb but maybe this happened for a reason, this happened so we could be pulled closer together," she said looking into my eyes.
"Too bad it took something like this for you to realize it," I told her.
"I'm gonna get some coffee," she told me and walked out of the room. When she did I was crying again.
"Dad?" I suddenly heard from the bed.
"Oh Sidney!" I yelled and jumped up and kissed her forehead.
"Dad, what happened to me?" she asked me.
"Oh baby girl, we were in a car accident and you broke a couple ribs, and your arm, and had some internal bleeding, but you'll be alright," I told her looking into her eyes.
"Daddy, I just wanna go home," she told me with her eyes tearing up.
"Oh baby, don't cry, I'll take you home as soon as we can. Please don't cry," I told her. I always hated when she cried, ever since she was a little girl.
"Is mom here?" she said still kinda crying.
"Yeah, she is, she just went down to the cafeteria to get some coffee," I told her running my fingers through her hair.
"I'm glad she came," Sidney told me.
"Me too baby girl, I think we might be getting back together what would you think about that?" I asked her.
"I think that would be great," she said and then she fell back asleep.
I sat down in the chair next to her bed and just watched her sleep. She was such a beautiful girl, I'm so glad she's okay. Then Neens came back in.
"Hey, did I miss anything?" she asked me as she gave me my coffee.
"Yeah, she woke up, she didn't say much before she fell back asleep," I told her and took another sip of my coffee.
"Oh, but what did she say?" Nina asked me and she looked into my eyes, she really cared.
"She said she was glad you came, and I asked her what she would think of me and you getting back together," I told her and stared at Sidney.
"Oh, and what did she say?" Nina asked.
"She said that would be great," I said. Then there was silence, no one said much until we saw Sidney flatline.
