Astro Boy x Reader // You Said You'd Be Back For Christmas

You sat at the window waiting for Astro to come back. You were currently watching the ice fall down on the glass. You didn't look sad, you had a hopeful smile on your face, but on the inside, you were sad. You have never been so upset and lonely. Even thought you had many people around you, you had never felt so abandoned, so lost.

It was Christmas, and the room was filled with joy. The was snowing outside and you watched out the window with sorrow. Everyone was happy- mostly. There was one person who wasn't here, making the party dull and lifeless. Him not being here made you dull and lifeless. He was your love and you couldn't be happy without him, especially not today.

"(Y/N)..?" You felt a tug on your red dress. "Will you come dance with me?" Zoran asked. You sighed and looked down at her, patting her head.

"Sorry Zoran I'm saving my first dance for-"

"Astro." Zoran crossed her arms. "I know." He huffed. "I wish you would forget about him and play with me." You frowned and turned back to the window, watching for your hero to return. Zoran looked up at you and sighed sadly, there was no way she would get your eyes off that stupid window. She walked off to Doctor Oshay to tell him what was going on.

"Doctor... I can't come back. Not until Atlas is found!" Astro crunched his fists up.

"Astro please. We all miss you very dearly.." Oshay sighed and he talked to Astro. "(Y/N) is taking it hard the most.."

Astro looked down and winced, he was being such a jerk to you. "Doctor.." Astro mumbled as he looked down at the city below him, he felt like hanging up on Oshay and continuing looking for Atlas, but once he heard your name he was sold.

"Astro. You must come home. Just for today." The doctor pleaded.

"Goodbye doctor." Astro sighed, hanging up on the doctor.

"You don't need to go Astro.." You grabbed onto his hand.

"I know." He smiled sadly at you, turning back around to face you.

"The others can find Atlas without you." You squeezed his hand. "Christmas is coming up soon and we are all going to miss you...!"

"I know.." He pulled you into a hug.

"Then tell my why Astro, why do you want to leave us for so long?"

"I'll tell you when I get back." He pulled away from the hug and winked at you. He then ran off, flying away into the distance.

You sighed and glanced away from the window. Everyone was laughing and dancing, you still could feel the real emotion in the air. It was getting late and many guests started leaving.

"(Y/N)!" Zoran pulled on your dress. "(Y/N)! Someone is at the door for you." She said.

You look down at her and sighed. "I can't leave the window, what if I don't see Astro when he comes back?"

"Just go! Okay?" Zoran pushes you away from the window. "I'll make sure to look and tell you if he comes!"

You sighed and began walking on your own. "Okay.." To be honest, your leg were hurting from not moving around enough. "I'll be back really soon." You ran to the door and kept looking back at the window, scanning Zoran's face for any strange emotions that could indicate that Astro was here. Before you could turn to face who was at the door, you hit them, chest first in the face. "Ow.." You stepped back and rubbed your nose.

"Good to see you got away from the window.." O'shay sighed happily. You looked up to see who you had bumped into. Your eyes widened.

"Astro! Astro how are you here??" You jumped into his arms for a warm hug. "I thought your would still be looking for Atlas!" You pulled back from the hug and cupped your hands around his cheeks.

"I decided that I would come home early." His hands were loosely wrapped around your waist. You felt so happy and relieved, thank baby Jesus that Astro had come back for you. After another minute of hugs, you all had settled back down.

"So Astro.." You tapped your thumbs together.

"Mhm?" He turned to face you, his Christmas hat only staying on because of his top horn.

"You told me.. you told me you'd tell me why you left when you came back." You looked down, maybe now wasn't such the best idea to bring this up. Astro shuffled closer to you until your bodies where touching.

"I wanted to make sure that I came back to have a peaceful Christmas with you." Astro placed his soft hand on your chin and gently pulled you into a kiss with him. His touch was soft and light just in case you wanted to pull away from him, he didn't want to make you trapped in his grasp. You happily pushed yourself into his kiss and wrapped your arms around his neck, giving him a tight hug. After a moment or so of lip locking, you pulled away to have a breath. Your arms loosened their grip in your hug with Astro.

Suddenly, Astro tackles you to the floor with a hug around your waist, his Christmas hat falling off. "Astro!" You cried out in alarm as the robot rested small kisses on your cheek, collarbone, neck, jaw and most importantly, lips. Astro chuckled at your flustered reaction and pulled back to look you in the eyes with his rejoicing expression.

"Merry Christmas (Y/N)."

"Merry Christmas Astro."
