"Jump! JUMP!" You yelled at your TV. "God fu-" You stood up, and saw about to throw your controller to the floor when you heard your house phone ringing.

"(Y/N)! Get the phone!" Your sibling shouted. You sat back down and restarted the level.

"No! I'm playing Me-"

"I GOT IT LAST TIME!" They screeched.

"Fine fine!" You dropped the controller and groaned. "I'll beat your level soon Doctor Wily.." You snarled at the TV as you paused the game. You walked around the couch and over to your house phone. "Hello?" You asked lazily.

"(Y/N)! The guys and I are going to organise to hang out somewhere. Want to join?" Astro asked, as chipper as ever.

"Mmmrr.." you bit the inside of your cheek and looked into your lounge room, the 8-bit music still playing from the paused game. "Sorry Astro, I'm still trying to beat this stage on my video game."

"The one I got for you for Christmas?" Astro asked.

"Yeah. That's the one." You nodded, still glancing at the the TV, you really wanted to play.

"How about we come over and try and help you?" Astro suggested.

"I only have two controllers.." You mumbled.

"That's okay! We can share!"

"Erm, okay, but-"

"We will be there soon!" Astro hung up. You sighed.

"I guess I could use some help." You put the phone back and glumly walked back to your game and continued to play.

After a while of you constantly dying at the same mini boss, you were just about to snap your controller in half from rage, but then the doorbell rang.

"(Y/N)! GET THE DOOR-"

"Yeah yeah! I know!" You yelled to your sibling. Once again, you got up from your comfy spot on the couch and glumly walked to the door. You opened it up to be towered over by five grinning boys.

"Hey (Y/N)!" They greeted. You slouched and opened the door wide enough for them all to come in.

"Hey guys.." They all rushed into your house, Abercrombie looked around, he wandered off a small bit, looking down your hallway that lead to the other rooms "Don't go down the hall, that's demon territory."

"Demon?" Abercrombie shivered.

"Yeah. My sibling's room is down there." You stated, walking to the couch. The boys sweat dropped and followed you to where the game was. You sat back down and picked up your controller. "So who wants to play first?" You asked.

"I will!" Reno leaped over the couch and sat next to you. He grabbed the controller and unpaused the game. "So, what do we gotta do?" He asked.

"So first you just need to pick your character." You point to his half of the split screen.

"Who do I get to chose from?" He asked.

"There is Bass... Rock.. I'm pretty sure you can play as Blues."

"I like this character!" Reno picked one and you both started the level.

"Alright, I'm probably going to be clearing all the enemies for you, so this should be easy." You stated.

But then it came to the boss. You did your part, shooting and hitting the character, but unfortunately, Reno died. He had usually lost his four lives at the puzzles so now it was someone else's turn to try and beat the level with you.

"Who's wants to try their luck next?"

"WADADADA!" Alejo fell into a pit of lava. "Oh come on! This game is totally rigged!" He had just lost his last life. While you were on three.

"Alright... lets try this one more time." You restarted the stage. "Astro you're last, right?"

"Uhm, yeah." He gently took a seat next to you and picked up the sweaty controller everyone had been touching.

"Who's your character?" You asked, already choosing yours.

"I guess I'll do bass...?" Astro shrugged.

"Fun fact, our characters are enemies." You laid back and started the stage.

"Oh, maybe I should've chosen someone else?" He looked at you.

"Nah, it's fine, it's not like we are enemies." You smiled at Astro.

"Yeah.." He smiled back.

"Okay! Come on Astro! We are counting on you!" Reno yelled. Astro smiled nervously and nodded.

"Since Astro's a robot, he should be able to figure out the pattern of the game." Alejo pointed out. "Unless it doesn't have one..."

"No no, it does." You nodded. "It's just a really hard one to get down."

"I hope I'll be able to help you." Astro smiled, shooting down some mini enemies. You smiled to yourself and continued to play.

"Okay Astro! You've gotten this far, let's try and beat..." The stage opened to reveal a giant robot with a mad scientist in it. "Doctor Wily!" You spoke in a strange voice that almost sounded like Astro's. He guessed you were trying to copy one of the characters voices.

"Alright! Let's do it (Y/N)!" Astro grinned.

You both began shooting at the machine and dogging his attacks. Astro got hit a few times at the start, but once he saw the pattern, he knew what to do.

You were on your last life, making you tense up at any attack that was thrown your way. You hadn't noticed the enemies health bar until the characters paused, including yours.

"What happened? Did the game crash?" And just before you were about to restart the game, the animation for the boss falling apart got triggered. Your eyes widened as you stood up and shouted in glee. "We beat it!"

"Nice going Astro!" The boys cheered for him as he bashfully thanked everyone.

You leaned down and smacked your hands on his cheeks. You pulled him up and forcefully kissed him. You pushed him back and celebrated him some more, while Astro sat there with a red face.

"Everyone! Get ready! We are going out! And lunch is on me!" You grinned and closed your eyes. Everyone emitted something like 'yay' Or 'yes' as you turned off the console.

Little did you know, you didn't save.
