You were walking to a robot park. You would usually go there every day after school. It was a nice place to drop your 'happy-go-lucky' little girl act and just be yourself. You looked at the robot children jumping around and having fun, the robot maids worrying over the children. You were probably the only human to step inside this park. Although other robots wouldn't notice you, they would assume you were one of them- Well all except one.

You had noticed a robot named Atom had been studying you. You were sure he'd noticed you were a human. A small dog yipping at your feet knocked you out of your thoughts. You bent down and began petting it.

Soon, Atom bent down beside you. You both said hi to one another and stared at the dog.

"Why do you love robots so much?" Atom asked out of nowhere.

You pet the robot dog on the head. "I don't. I don't love anything."

Atom was taken aback by your words. "Humans always love, why don't you?"

"I'm different." You crossed your legs. "I can't love."

"What about hate?" He asked.

"I can't do that either." The robot dog licked your hand, your frown didn't twitch into a smile.

"You can't feel emotions, can you?" Atom bent down to your side. You stayed silent. "Is that why you spend time with robots? Because they're like you?"

"Yes."

"I saw you with your friends once, you seemed happy." Atom joined in petting the dog with you. "But you're only pretending."

"Yes."

"I do that too."

"How do you pretend?" You glanced at him for a moment.

"I find the little details of things that happen to me." Astro stopped petting the dog. "Like... Eating ice-cream, it makes my chest feel cold. I might not be able to taste it, but I still feel a reaction from it."

A comforting science filled the air between you two.

"You know, we're really different." You pulled your arm away as the dog's owner called him.

"How so?" Atom watched as the barking dog jumped into its owner's arms.

"You can't physically feel things, I can." You ran your hands across the pavement, feeling its rough and spiky edges. "I can't mentally feel things, you can."

"We're not as different as you think." Atom also touched the pavement.

You opened your mouth to speak, but then closed it.

"We should talk more often." Atom smiled.

"Yes, I like spending time with you."

"Why's that?"

"I don't need to pretend with you."
