"Kairi, please stop crying.. please."

I am having THE MOST stressful day of my life, if this is what being a mommy feels like.... this ain't it. Kairi has been crying for at least a hour now, of course her dad is doing business and I didn't mind watching her because she's a good kid, she normally watches tv and plays but today isn't her day.

I tried to put on her favorite show, feed her, give her juice, even tried to give her soda when I'm not supposed to. No matter what I did she screamed and kicked and hollered to the top of her lungs.

"Can you tell me whats wrong? Anything just say something baby please."

"AHHHHHHHH"

"You miss your dad? Hey, look we can call him." I ran to my room grabbing my phone off the charger and I FaceTimed David."

"Wassup bab- Is Kairi okay?"

"No, she's literally screaming and I don't know what's wrong. Are you coming back soon?"

"Were not really done here, but I can come back if you need me to."

"Uh, no don't worry about it. I'll figure something out."

"Maybe I can talk to her."

"Kairi, look its daddy.. see." I picked her up and we sat on the couch and I put the phone in her face and she started to calm down.

"Babyyyy, what's wrong?"

"Daddy" she sniffed and was about to start back and he quickly stopped her and at that moment I knew.. she was a TRUE daddys girl. This is why I was afraid, I was afraid of him being deep in the business like my uncle because if something happened to him, where is she gonna go? I don't know anybody in his family, this little girl has nobody and I would assume he would want her with me. I quickly got those thoughts out of my head and I turned my attention back to these two.

"Be a good girl okay? I'll be home shortly."

She nodded and put her head on my chest and I slowly breathed out cause I didn't know if she was gonna start up again.

"Alright, I think she'll be fine for now."

"I sure hope so."

It was a awkward silence and he finally spoke up. "Sorry about last night.. I just-"

"It's fine, you don't have to explain. I get it."

"You do?"

"No, I'm just saying that so we don't have to be mad at each other."

"I'm not mad Ayanna, I told you.. I just want a better life for Kairi, and now you. I don't want you to ever have to worry about anything... ever."

"That's understandable just be careful."

"I am, no doubt. I gotta get back though, I'll see yall in a few."

"Ok, bye."
