There was a storm rolling around the little forested island where Melina lived in her enchanted cottage. A strange feeling gathered in the atmosphere tonight and she could feel it burning under her skin. This storm was unlike any other that she had witness and knew that he was near but she had to wait. Clouds gathered around the main island that was situated five miles away from her island and could not be seen by the human eye. Splints of light in the midst of the dark clouds showing that there was a full battle in motion. Her vision told her that she would need to be here for something more important than her very existence, and so she sat in her chair watching the embers of the fire burn with life. Relaxed in her chair she quietly listened the storm brewing in the distance slowly closing in on her magical shields.
Suddenly there was a knock on her door and a presence that felt friendly behind it. She looked up at the door and said, "Come in."
There was no need to lock her doors as the only people who could ever enter her magical protection would be the invited, therefore her doors were never locked. Melina would see the invited before they made a decision to visit her. She would always be ready to welcome a visitor but she knew what this storm would bring. After a few seconds that the door remained closed, she lets out a sigh of frustration and once again in an authoritative tone she calls out, "Come in."
Impatiently awaiting the person to enter her domain she feels a trickle of unease for the first time in 1500 years. A gust of wind blows into the house when a figure emerged from the darkness into the light of the room. She lets out the breath that she had not realized she held in. She knew what was to come but part of her vision was blurred as to whom would be coming to her to fulfill the prophesy.
"Mathias..." She says walking towards her fated but he looks like he is worst for the wear. He is drenched from the rain head to toe. His skin is covered in ash and his clothing is also torn. With haste she walks up to her fated and helps him inside eyeing the basket that he holds on to with a death grip. Extending her right hand without looking she shuts the door close with a loud bang and sealed it knowing that trouble was not far away.
Mathias sinks into the nearby chair and looks into her teal green eyes boring her with his light gray eyes that almost looked as though there wasn't anything there but his Sclera (The white part of the eye). When he is not using magic his eyes are a rich dark brown that runs deep into his soul. She takes in his strained features knowing that something terrible has happened and he had to leave in a hurry from where ever he came.
"Melina, the prophesy has begun," he says in a weak voice and she knew he had used a lot of magic to get to her.
Knitting her brows she looked at the basket that he held and he nodded his head not taking his eyes from hers. Her eyes widened with recognition and tears glimmered in her eyes as she pulls back the blanket to confirm her fears. She takes the basket gently and removed the small infant who looks at her with innocence. A painful smile forms at her lips as she cradles the baby.
"Melina, there is no time... I am afraid that I have brought trouble to your door step. You must never allow him to have the child or we all would be in grave danger," he says before going unconscious.
An explosion is sounded and she knows that Orrin was the cause of the chaos that shrouded her island. Packing her things in a swirl of magic it was all placed in an enchanted suit case. She took a look at her surroundings ensuring that nothing of her was left behind. Satisfied that all of her worldly possessions were magically all packed in her suit case she pulls out a small crystal and created an oval shaped portal. Laughter came from a distance and she knew that Orrin was almost through her protective spell. Looking out of a nearby window she saw the thick fog in the sky enclosing on her force field trying to break its way through. Orrin will stop at nothing till he has what he wants and she decided that he would never have it. Holding onto the child she lifts Mathias in his slumber with her magic to allow him to float along with her suit case and walks into the portal. Once on the other side of the portal she takes one last look at her cottage and closes the portal ensuring that she would not be traced. Hearing the last of Orrin's angry scream at her calling her a coward.
Melina knew that this was to come as it was a foretold prophesy before her birth that a child would be born and destined for greatness. She was also assigned to be one of the child's protectors along with Mathias.
Over the centuries she has prepared for this day. Her magic was strong but she was no match for Orrin on her own. Orrin was once a God but he had chosen the wrong path and it all began with envy that festered within him. He wanted to be worshiped and be the most powerful.
Orrin was engulfed in greed for power which brings the current issue at hand. While Orrin lived above the galaxy his envy drove him to murder other God's by absorbing their power. He was cast into the galaxy and ever since wrecked havoc to all in his path.If the prophesy was accurate Orrin would want to bind himself to the child or absorb her power. His main goal was to become unstoppable. This must not happen, he now used black magic. Filled with envy and he became cruel and this mingled with his magic poisoning his very soul. Every life that he took pushed him over to darkness and the taste of power only made him want more.
Upon their arrival she stood at the door of her safe place. Somewhere that Orrin could not follow. Evil could not enter this domain and if attempted would be fought against insuring that anyone with malicious intent never crossed over to the human world. Without a pure heart one could be trapped between worlds.
Earth was the only place she knew would be safe for the infant at least from Orrin's wrath. She too would now have to make this her new home in which she has visited on many occasions. She'd never favored humans, a young race that were ever so curious. A secluded place in England was chosen. Acres of land that she purchased many years ago putting her plan in place with the help of an old friend who advised her of its safety. Glancing around to ensure there weren't prying eyes around, she proceeded to her new life.
Mathias woke up with a groan passing his hand through his long wavy black hair. He stilled for a moment looking up at the ceiling and frowned knowing that he was not at home. He felt as though he had been out for some time. Everything flashed back to him immediately and he froze taking in his surroundings. The need was seemed to be new and the color of the sheets were a light butter color matching the curtains perfectly.
He rolled over to his side then sat on the edge of the bed placing his feet on the warm boards of the floor. Realization dawned on him that Melina had saved him and he was no prisoner to Orrin. He stood up from the comfortable bed. The sun was setting allowing a light hazy orange in the room illuminating the furniture. His magic stirred within him feeling his true love near by. His dear Melina... For years he felt love for Melina but she refused him after revealing to her that he was her fated. He loved her with his soul but never came close to telling her again after being turned away he stayed close to her as a friend. He was nothing but a fraud.
