Melody's POV
It really was as easy as Tabby said that it would be to sneak out of her parents house. Only when we got outside Xander was leaning on the car examining his nails. I gasped when I bumped into him, "What the-" my words immediately stopped when I was looking directly into his eyes. We both froze for a few seconds while I looked like a deer in headlights he looked stunned.
"Where do you two think you are going?" he said with an amused look.
"None of your business dork!" Tabby whisper shouted at her brother pulling me off of him.
"Really? All I have to do is pull the door handle on this little Subaru and your little shindig is over he smiled evilly.
Groaning Tabby slumped her shoulders and said, "Fine! We are going to a party. What's it to you anyway?" I stood looking at the exchange between them but I could not understand much of her annoyance towards Xander but then I had no siblings to understand anyways I thought. Its probably a twin thing.
Suddenly Tabby stumped her feet like a toddler and said, "Fine you can come too," between gritted teeth. My eyes widened because this was a party to make me feel better while having fun and I already would not know anyone at the party. Adding him to our little secret out time was like adding fuel to the fire. He as the last person I wanted to be around. It totally defeated the purpose.
He smirked in my direction and Tabby turned slowly to him eyeing him suspiciously, "What's your interest in going somewhere with us anyways?"
"Oh nothing, just want to have some fun too," was his simple response but Tabby eyed him nervously, "Just one thing dear sister. They come too!" he said pointing a finger to Aiden and Alissa. Immediately my body started tingling again and I was just ready to pack it in because anger also began to boil in my veins. For a Split second I thought that maybe he wanted to spend time with me! Instead he was trying to find some unsupervised time with his new girl friend.
"Could this get any worse! Like who else would be invited to our damn sneak out?" Tabby whisper shouted looking up at the sky as though she was questioning the stars.
A few minutes later we were in the parking lot of the club where the blasting music could be heard. Everyone sat without movement until Tabby killed the engine and slipped out of the car straightening her tight, short backless black dress and checked herself to ensure her makeup was right one last time before entering the club. Her dark red hair was twisted up in a very sophisticated style to make her seem older than she really was. Xander was second out of the car followed by Aiden and Amelia who sat in the middle of the guys. Sighing I pushed up myself from the front seat in the heals that I borrowed from Tabby.
My hair flowed down my back in perfect waves that took them almost half hour to perfect including our makeup to appear age appropriate by using YouTube as a guide and surprisingly it worked. Alissa walked up to Tabby with quick little steps, "Thank you for bringing us along. We really needed to get out after - after everything..." she trailed off looking at the floor between her and Tabby.
"Hang on!" she said looking into Alissa's face, "you need to look older." I could see that Tabby felt some sort of compassion for her when she looked at Alissa. In a few minutes she twisted Alissa's hair up that made her pretty face more visible and pulled out a pair of scissors cutting the form fitting navy blue dress shorter. After that she placed some bronzer and lipstick on her lips. Tabby who wanted to be a fashion designer always had sewing stuff on her and her excuse was, "You never know when you are gonna have a fashion malfunction on your hands."
Ten minutes later we were in the club at the bar ordering cocktails. Soon as we sat at the bar I pulled Tabby by the arm and said, "what the hell was that? Getting chummy with the in laws? Are you forgetting why we are here?"
