Christian Hogue as Aiden
The sky was grey this morning with the weather that took over the skies. Looking up she could see the heavy clouds pelting rain drops heavily at the earth raising the aroma of lawn mixed with mud. Stirring milk into her tea she sits in waiting for her visitor that she could already sense coming her way. Suddenly a light tap was sounded on the door, "come in Aiden." There was a pause at the door and she smiled at herself knowing that he was wondering how she knew it would be him at the door that was solid to her office.
He walked in and her smile did not fade instead it widened at his unsure approach. His handsome face held so much resemblance to his father but striking features also played a part of his mother's beauty. Everyone who knew Melina would know that she hated having a conversation with someone standing over her so she motioned for him to sit across from her. After his nervous hesitation she said, "please Aiden, have a seat."
After sitting opposite her, she looked him in the eye wanting to see his soul while he looked back to her as well. She was suddenly surprised that he also had the same gift that he was also digging deep into her. They stood looking into each other and just about getting close enough to enter into her mind in which she did not have to guard closely for many years she shut the door on him closing him off.
"One day you might look and be unhappy about what you see. Your mother did say that you were very talented, doing what you just did takes a lot of skill." His concentration was now broken and he jerked back at her rejection with an expression of shuck but quickly schools his face expressionless once more.
"Thank you."
"That was not fully a compliment because you did so without guarding your own secrets... You might have the power to use the skill but you lack training and experience," she laughed breaking the connection sighing to herself. He shrugged his shoulders apologetically, "tea?"
"Thank you, I would love to have some," he answers between clenched teeth.
She looks at him with a now serious look in her purple eyes that glinted, "Careful boy, one day you would intrude into someone's mind that could lock you there. I am slightly disappointed that you have not yet mastered your telepathic ability. The next time you enter my mind without my permission I may not be so nice about it. I know that you did not come here to have to tea with me, so care to tell me what's on your mind?" she gently smiled at him changing her expression from challenging to kind allowing her eyes to turn to a dark forest green.
Aiden kept staring at her with an anew respect and knew that she was to be trusted as he had looked her in the eye and saw only what she allowed then closed off his acceptance into her locker of secrets. He could see by nature that she was a good and gentle person but behind the facade she was as powerful as they come, maybe even more than his own mother. "I remember you when I was a child. You came to my planet with your husband on many occasions but have not visited for some time. What caused you to take us in, my sister and I?"
"Your mother and I were introduced to each other before your father even met her, she was a young girl at that time and I was guardian to another royal. For many millenniums we have been friends, I was even a guest at your parents' wedding when she became the queen of your planet and fated to your father. For a long time I was her confidant when she knew that we held the same gift. This is a rear gift that we both have which is why someone like Orrin would want us to join him. I did not know that you had possessed this inherited gift as well. He wanted to convince me once that we would be unstoppable and even thought that I would be the chosen one." She paused looking at him with a pained expression, "when I found out about his plan I alerted your mother that he would come to her next to persuade her. He did not have an army just yet but I can imagine that he's made powerful alliances to also see his reasoning."
