A moment to behold Part 13

Melody as Selena Gomez

"Attack me!" Matthias shouts at Melody while he stands in an attack position. Melody standing 5 feet away in the mimicked stance looking at him with determination while her body is wet with sweat. Her black gym wear plastered to her skin she looks at him for an invitation which would be distraction. Without hesitation she soundlessly runs up to him and started hitting him with all coordination that was learned since the age of six when they started training. Matthias blocked every time she tries to hit him and finally he shoves her off as this though he was bored, "Try harder!" he shouts, "in a battle with the enemy there is no time out! He will not go soft on you! Again!" 

Melody picks up herself from the floor with her breath racing and runs up to him again but this time he pushes her back without touching her making her eyes go wide as the force hits her. He smirks at her and dusts off his chest angering her as he does so. Treating her as though she had no chance at him, she immediately gets up on her feet but a tingling sensation over her body as she makes her way to him. In a second she was on him surprising him with her superhuman speed and she lands a punch to his face. Before her eyes her fist became a translucent gold with sprinkles of color seeping out like glitter. He pulls back from her with the same speed and blocks her with a burning bright orange shield that looked oddly like flames. She pulled back with a gasp looking around as though someone else was in the room and Matthias stares at her. He slowly makes his way to her with his hands up as though in surrender and looks deeply into her wild eyes when finally he was in front of her. Matthias puts his hands on her shoulders never allowing his eyes to stray from hers. Her entire body was translucent making her seem to be a sparkling gold ghost, slowly from the legs up began to see her flesh return to normal. She too trying to calm herself from the fright she had experience a moment ago looked back at him for reassurance. He holds her shoulders and said, "its okay, I know this is new but its really okay. Your uncle Matt would come to help you with your magic and so will your mom. You would need both physical and magical power to help you defeat him."

She begins to shake uncontrollably that came through to her voice,  "dad... I am really scared."

"I know sweetheart and it is okay to be scared when you are afraid to lose loved ones but it this war is inevitable. Remember what I always tell you... We can never run from our destiny no matter what my princess. He will one day come for you and you have to be ready for him but we are all going to be right there with you," he said gently brushing her wet hair from her face and she nods trusting him. 

Closing her eyes she breathes out slowly exhaling as she was thought to calm herself, "you are right dad... I just - I just didn't think that this was my destiny. I have been studying and doing so much thinking that my destiny would be a great career and a lot of shopping" she giggles at the last part. 

He too smiles at her and sits on the floor of the gym patting next to him for her to join him, "Mel, not in a millions years I would have thought this to be my destiny. I never thought of a family or even finding my fated. I thought that I would be the royal guard for the king forever and my days were all a routine, I was happy with my existence. One day I saw her.." he says looking up at the ceiling as though he could see it like a movie. " I saw the most beautiful person I had ever blessed my eyes upon, yup," he nods his head with a far away look in his eyes and a small smile on his face, "Melina." He gives a hearty laugh when he faced Melody and she could see a sparkle in his eye that she never witnessed before.  

"Your mom, did not like me very much before and it seemed to devastate her that I was her fated. This made me react like a fool at first but I was only behaving this way because I was afraid to lose the one I love... When I noticed within myself after a talk with the king - man to man," he laughs out again and Melody joins him trying to think of her fathers discussing a woman. Shaking his head he continues, "I realized that it was okay for me to be scared in the face of losing the one thing I loved the most. She almost rejected me you know? She actually did reject me but knowing her... She thought that it was for the good of us both. That woman near killed us both fighting our love."
