Aizawa's POV:

I fought against the bonds of the villain's arms but no matter which way I moved, they kept a firm hold on me. I couldn't turn my head to see the students and Izuku and instead, I turned to look at Higashi who was the only one I could see. She wasn't there. One of the villains doubled over in pain and I tried to see what happened but I still couldn't move around. Another blow came out of nowhere and kicked another villain in the stomach but this time, bits of flesh and blood came out. Spikes on black and gold, covered in red.

Shiria Higashi

She swept kicked another, stood up and dug her knee into his back. I could hear a vague crack from his spine. I could finally move and the first thing I did was to punch one of them in the jaw. Higashi and I fought until there were no more villains near us, only the others had villains on them. Despite being made of actual skin and bones (I looked at her card, that couldn't be healthy.) she packed a pretty hard kick. I looked to Higashi and smiled, she returned it and turned back, her red eyes widened and she took a step back. I turned back as well and saw why for Shigaraki had crushed her emerald ring into two halves. A white-ish orb floated out of the crushed pieces, I turned to her.

"Doesn't that break your contract...?" She placed her head down and gave a deep chuckle "No, Izuku has all of our contracts, the accessories that we wear simply, keep our corruption in order. Souls are corrupted, some more than others." She looked back up but her normal and lively light red eyes were not there instead, two blank darker red eyes replaced them. All white parts of her clothes turned black, the gold parts turned a dark grey, and her orange hair, bright and messy, turned pure white and moved out of her eyes. The lenses of her sunglasses shattered but were still on, she still cradled her limp arm in her hand. There was a large white spot on the front of her neck that had flakes of skin falling off as if the dry skin was peeling.

"And now, born from the ashes, he's a warrior in bloodied black."

She muttered under her breath and her unhurt hand glowed an odd white. She raised it up above her head and brought it down fast behind her back, a long yellow staff with a circled end split from her hand. She ran and didn't look back until she had reached the stairs where he stood laughing at the broken ring. She took one last sight of me and she jerked her hand towards Shigaraki. Electricity emerged from within the circle and surrounded him as his body spazzed, he shakily reached his hand out as if intending to touch her and she jerked back as her electricity dispersed. I could see and sense pure pleasure coming from Shigaraki as he seemed to realize Higashi was scared of him. Her face of fear was suddenly replaced by pure rage as she took her staff and hooked it behind his neck and yank forward, she brought her knee up and his face slammed into her knee with a sickening crack. She pulled away and unhooked her staff from Shigaraki and twirled it as blood steadily flowed from his nose, most likely broken. I could see Higashi prance up the rest of the stairs with fierce satisfaction and she smiled as she walked around Shigaraki. I stayed rooted to the spot until I heard no further uproar from behind me. I turned around and noticed no more villains fighting and everyone watching her, wordlessly with their breaths held and their heads up. The rest of the students weren't there, most likely outside where they couldn't see this. She wandered around him and kept whispering, what looked like, the same sentence over and over again until her voice reached a level in which we all could hear her.

"'If a man has not discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live.' The Poet will continue to tell us."

Higashi stopped behind Shigaraki and what happened next most likely shocked everyone here. She slotted his head into the circle of her staff and planted her foot in the middle of his back, keeping him at a distance as she pulled her staff back harshly. Shigaraki touched the circle with all ten of his fingers, intending to get rid of the thing choking him, but the staff didn't turn to dust. She didn't bother hiding her surprise as a warp gate emerged from under him, She dropped her staff and watched as Shigaraki slipped right through it as she no longer used it to choke him, she sprang back and let out a cry of shock. A few seconds after, she turned back stiffly, her staff on the ground looked like it was glitching until it was gone. "Well, would you look at that shit right there, some pretty bad shit." She walked down the stairs slouched and turned up in front of us with a nonchalant expression. Kanno was the first to go at her by grabbing the collar of her shirt and lifting her off the ground. "What did you think you were doing! If you didn't intervene then we would have caught him!" She grinned drowsily at her. "Yeah well, I didn't let that warped fuck leave." Kanno sneered. "That was Okino's job." They both looked at her but said nothing. At last, she spoke, "It was my job, I didn't see him at all." She kept a straight face although this seemed quite entertaining to her. Why? They turned to stare back at each other, "See not my fault-" Higashi started but cut off as she swerved her head to the side. She considered her surroundings, "Heroes," is what she said at last after her silence. She directed to the short green-haired female that I didn't know was even here, "You'd better get going unless you want to end up like many of these villains here." She touched Kanno's fists and she settled her back on the ground, softly, seeming to forget their earlier disagreement.

She looked at Bakugou and Kirishima, "You both better get going-" She looked to Furuya and Chinen. "-You both, take them up there and stay up there." She glanced at Okino next. "Escort Inko out of here before more heroes arrive, all right?" She nodded and they both departed. She looked at Kanno, Deku and I, "You can go if you want-" She jabbed her thumb behind her where Shigaraki was earlier. "-I need to grab what's left of the ring or else I'll look like this for a while-" she motioned to herself, "-and I don't really want that." She jogged to and up the stairs where the cracked ring lay. She swept the two pieces up into her hand and inspected the pieces of her ring in her hand.

BANG!

An earsplitting shot rang out through U.S.J and the air turned bitter and noiseless. All was still, Higashi held her chest with a grunt as she dropped the two pieces of her ring and let herself fall to the floor. Kanno was the first to move and she ran up to her, skidding down on her knees to check on her unmoving body was possibly the scariest things I've ever seen happen to one of my students. I turned my head to where the gunfire rang out, a large group of Peo Heroes stood at the entrance, some looking terrified of what they just witnessed and others still thinking she was the villain. She looked very villainy with her outfit still dark. Snipe stood in the front with his gun still out and smoking from the shot. Kanno picked her up bridal style and ran her down to where we were, "She was shot just above her lung and it grazed the right one, she also has a spinal injury from earlier and a sprained wrist." We could all hear the panic in her voice, she didn't show it but she did seem to care about the smaller girl. Higashi rolled her head to the side, "I knew knowing that crusty-ass bitch would put me in a lot of pain." She joked as she hacked up blood and it ran down the side of her mouth. Deku clutched his head, "Lungs... Spine and wrist, how long will those take to heal!" He panicked and started muttering. Higashi acknowledged his concern. "About a few days if your Quirk kicks up." Her head lolled to the side and it seemed she went back to staying soundless.
