Yugo and I were walking with the group to the cafeteria, I nudged him in the side, "Oi, where's Deku?" He looked at me weirdly, probably because the name 'Deku' came out of his mouth instead of 'Izuku.' Shiria had to make things hard on me by calling all of his classmates by their first name. Some of his classmates allow him to do so while some have voiced their distaste and he's always respected them and called them what they preferred to be called. It was easy for me to memorize last names but first names weren't something I could easily remember. I'd sometimes forget their names altogether and have to describe them to him until he was able to understand who I was talking about, which barely took seconds. Shiria had a photographic memory, able to remember the smallest detail of someone. Whether it be how their voice sounded when they were excited or exactly how their eyes looked in the sun, he was able to remember it all. I cleared his throat and racked my brain for the other kid's name,
"Shoto-Kun is also missing."
Yugo whipped his head around, "Ah, so they are." Shiria and Yugo never used the other's first name, he said it only sounded like they were mad at the other. But he was my son so I was gonna call him his first name. By all means, Shiria was also my son. We entered the cafeteria and got in line and waited for our turn to get our food. When we did get our food, we went and sat down next to the tables that the rest of our class occupied. We ate in mostly silence but from time to time we'd talk about what else we thought was gonna happen after lunch. I picked at my food, Shiria's body didn't get hungry and I'd throw it up if I even tried to eat. We made our way back to the arena after we were done eating, "Now that lunch is over, it's finally time to reveal the last game! But before that," I laced my fingers and placed them behind my head again, "There's good news for all of you who didn't make it to the finals!" I slouched my shoulders to look more like Shiria, I had much better posture but he outdid me in manners. Together we made the perfect gentleman! But we can't be in control at the same time "This is just a sports festival! So we've prepared recreational games that everyone can participate in, too!" I looked to the right, "Oh dear!" I turned around flustered, I was straight but I couldn't say that much about Shiria. I never know what he's thinking unless he wants me to know. "We've even brought real cheerleaders from America to liven things up!" At the mention of the country I looked back, I used to have a friend there until she was wiped off the face of the earth. Her name was Charlie. She had the loveliest purple hair with green spots and purple eyes and a Quirk that made anything she touched poisonous. (Tell me why I originally called America a state)
"All right, everyone! Let's have fun competing in the recreation games!" The screens lit up, "When that's over, the sixteen from the four teams that made it to the final round will duke it out tournament style, one-one-one!" The cheering grew louder and I grimaced and tried to block it out. "The last round is a tournament where we fight one-one-one, huh?" I heard Eijiro say, He was one of the only names I could remember since Shiria hung out with him and Bakugou a lot. "I'm gonna stand on the stage that I watch every year on TV!" I remember Yugo wanting to watch the sports festival one year but I didn't pay much attention to the screen, I had no use watching them. "Was it a tournament last year?" "It's different every year, but there's a one-on-one competition every year. Last year, it was a sports chanbara match." The R-Rated pro hero stood on the stage holding a yellow box with the word 'Lots' in black marker, "Now, let's draw lots to determine the bracket. Once the bracket is determined, we'll have the recreational games and then start! The sixteen finalists can choose whether or not they want to participate in the recreation. I'm sure some of you want to rest or save your strength." She started walking off, "Now from the first place team--" She was interrupted by a raised hand, "Um...! Excuse me." It was that tail dude, I loved his quirk. His tail always looked so fluffy! "I'm withdrawing." Everyone gasped and turned to him. No tail dude! "Mashirao Ojiro" Shiria's conscious reminded me, "Are you awake yet?" No response. "Ojiro, why?" Deku questioned and Iida backed him up, "This is a rare chance for pros to see you!" Ojiro let his hand fall, "I barely remember anything from the cavalry battle until almost the end. I think it was that guy's Quirk." Deku looked around to locate who 'that guy' was. "I know that this is a great chance and that it's foolish to waste it..." "Ojiro..." He clenched his fist, "But... Everyone here completed by giving their all! I can't... I can't be up there with everyone without knowing what really happened." Shiria's face displayed no emotion, heroes wanted to win but they didn't want to win without the knowledge of how they won. Fascinating.
"You're worrying too much about it!" Fucking floating pair of clothes! "Toru Hagakure" came his tired sounding conscious. "You should just make sure you produce results in the finals!" Ashido talked next to try and cheer him up, "If you're gonna say that, I didn't do anything either." That only seemed to make him sadder "That's not it..." He slapped a hand over his eyes. "I'm talking about my pride here... I can't..." I wanted to intervene but I knew that was just Shiria's body talking, I wouldn't even know what to say. Another kid stepped up to the stage, "I'm Hirengeki Shoda from Class B. I also want to withdraw for the same reason. Regardless of ability," he looked down at his hand then back to Midnight, "Don't you think it goes against the goal of the sports festival for those who didn't do anything to move onto the final round?" Man, this is getting super weird super fast. Eijiro started to tear up, "What's with these guys?!" Dude, please stop, "They're so manly!" I sighed and took a step back as Midnight looked at the crowd of students. "Youthful talk like that is something... I like it!" She raised her whip and brought it down, I wished I still had mine. It was a real whip compared to hers and sparked with electricity whenever I touched it, it was perfect. I knew Shiria could make himself a staff made out of electricity but he couldn't use it here since he considered it a support item. Though, since it was made of electricity it could only be made with stored up electricity, which he rarely ever had because, well, me being here should be a good enough answer. "Shoda! Ojiro! I accept your withdrawal!" I gave a content sigh, no more of that. She tapped her chin, "In that case, we'll have to move two people from the fifth place cavalry battle team..." My eyes widened and I hid behind Yugo. Midnight smirked and she seemed to get the best idea of who to move up. I hoped it was the Class B students that caught Shiria's attention. "And so, Higashi and Aoyama have been moved up to make sixteen!" I groaned, "It's because we're Class A, isn't it?" I felt Yugo nod hesitantly. It looked like even he didn't want to be one of the finalists. Midnight raised her whip again "This is the bracket based on the results of the drawing!" The cheering grew even louder than before, which I didn't think was possible.
Shinso VS Midoriya
Todoroki VS Sero
Higashi VS Kaminari
Iida VS Hatsume
Ashido VS Aoyama
Tokoyami VS Yaoyorozu
Tetsutetsu VS Kirishima
Uraraka VS Bakugou(I changed the teams up a bit:
Midoriya, Hatsume, Uraraka, Tokoyami.
Todoroki, Iida, Yaoyorozu, Kaminari.
Bakugou, Kirishima, Sero, Ashido.
Shinso, Tetsutetsu, Ojiro, Shoda.
Aoyama, Higashi, Kamakiri, Tsunotori.)I patted Yugo on the back from my spot behind him, "Good luck, bud." He looked back, "You against Kaminari? You sure that's gonna work out?" I shrugged, "My body was built to intake high levels of electricity, despite the pain, it won't be enough to hurt me badly and all I have to do is make him use up all his energy." Thank you for providing me information for this conversation. He nodded but his face showed clear distaste for the situation. "All right! Let's leave the tournament aside for a momentary interlude!" There were fireworks. "Let's have fun with the recreation! First is the scavenger hunt!" I didn't really care much for these games so I sat them out and instead focused on trying to understand why Shiria hasn't woken up yet.
The games were over before we knew it and I found out one important piece while I cleared my mind outside the arena, Shiria was fucking awake! He wasn't fucking with me, he just didn't want to take control until it was our time to battle. I proposed a plan that not only let him rest more but also allowed our success to rise to a 95.3% chance of us winning. "Hey guys, are you ready?!" The crowd went wild and I smirked as I watched Cementoss from the stands finish the stage that we were meant to fight on. "A lot's happened, but it's now come to this! A serious battle! You can only depend on yourself!" I chuckled, "Yes, Mic, a very serious battle." "Get in the right mindset! We can't let this fail! It's the only plan we've got." I nodded as Shiria cheered in his head. It wasn't like I was about to forget something that we talked about literally five minutes ago. Yugo sat right below us. "Even if you're not a hero, you'll face lots of situations like that! You get it, right? Heart, skill body, wisdom, and knowledge! Use all of that to rush up!" Deku was already down there preparing for his fight and from what Shiria's gathered from watching the fight is that the kid Deku was up against had a mind-control quirk.
We're gonna win this! Or at least get to the next round.
