8. Flashback: Outbreak (part 2)

The bus continued to go straight in the highway.

"All citizens are advised to stay in their homes and await further instructions... An evacuation procedure has been enacted..." The radio has been broadcasting news about the outbreak and the reporter advised that survivors must wait.

"To hell we should wait!" Kagami cussed, turning off the radio.

"Hello Dad, you still there?" Konata had been calling her father.

"OK bye." She hung up.

"What did your father say?" Patricia asked.

"He and some other people are evacuated to the general hospital. We should go there."

"What? It's too risky! Those things are everywhere in the city areas! More worse the hospital is in the next highway exit!" Misao protested.

"Well someone you know could be holed up there too! Ne, Kagamin what do you think we should do?"

"I think we should go to the hospital. My parents and my other sisters could be there."

"That's right. We don't care how much risk it'll be." Tsukasa continued.

Misao and Hiyori sighed. Yutaka and Minami had been fast asleep ever since they left the school.

"I think going to the hospital wouldn't be a bad idea too. Well, there could be medicine and such." Miyuki said.

"Yeah, and without medicine we couldn't go on if we got sick." Yui agreed as well, driving Initial D style.

Kuroi-Sensei nodded.

The highway exit is near and Yui drove there, and after a minute of driving through the silent streets, they reached the hospital in one piece.

However something is odd...

Kagami looked at the hospital building, the lights are out.

Yui drove to the underground parking lot regardless, and she stopped after finding a suitable place to park.

"Remember, we're not here just for the rest of our friends and family. We need medical supplies... Especially Penicillin, Methicillin, and better yet, Vancomycin." Miyuki reminded the group.

"Question is who should go? Should we go altogether, or just the few of us?" Tsukasa asked.

"Few of us will go." Kagami replied.

"What, why?" Hiyori asked.

"We can't risk the number of infectees."

"It's your choice then, who do you want to go with?" Misao asked.

Kagami then put a finger on her chin.

"Ok... Group A consists of Tsukasa, Konata and Miyuki, B has Narumi-San and Kuroi-Sensei, and C has the rest of you except Yutaka-Chan."

"Fine, who are you going with?" Konata asked.

"A."

"I knew you would pick that." Patricia commented.

"Here, a walkie talkie, in case we should communicate." Hiyori tossed one at Kagami, while Yui held another.

Then Kagami and the group she chose exited the bus with their weapons, and they walked to the inside of the hospital with flashlights too, since it's too dark.

As they walked through the halls of the hospital, they found out that there's no voice whatsoever, which sends chills down Tsukasa's spine.

"Where is everyone? I got a bad feeling..." Tsukasa expressed her fear, gripping the broomstick shakily.
